Crowd injury or not?

Right - I hope that I can explain this properly...
#7 is hitting #5 resulting in a pushback - obviously he will displace another player but - if he is pushed back into #3 will he be forced into one of the empty squares on either side of #1 or force #1 off the side of the pitch??

If you are forced to pushback a player into a square occupied by another player, it acts as if that player is making a pushback. So 7 pushes back 5 into 3. 5 acts as if he just rolled a pushback result on 3, and then has to pushback into the square to the left of #1 or the square to the right of #1 exactly as if 5 had blocked 3. That's my understanding, anyway.

My understanding is that subsequent "cannoning" pushbacks conform to the normal rules for pushbacks - ie the 3 valid squares "behind" the player.

Admittedly this is a bastard to phrase succinctly. Tried it once when working through the OLBBL rules with Stetto. We didn't really come up with anything that made sense =)

Thanx guys.

I thought that was the case and therefore pushed back into #2 (the ball carrier) anyway - just wanted clarification about the other option.

My league plays that everyone who's pushed back is pushed back in a straight line, along the 8 cardinal directions.

Like, if you push a guy up-left into an occupied square, the guy behind him will also go up-left. Just makes it simpler than having to decide where everyone goes, every time.
