OK, 0-4 standard Goblins.

Should allow an 11 man team to start with.

4. Severe fudging of player costs to make 11 players a good starting possibility

Sounds good! Goblins seems like a logical solution as Thadrin says. But we will have to wait and see (or maybe someone could press something out of a Resurrection goer).

What? No Ogre Babies? :)

Here's the Ogre roster my league uses. No special rules either.

0-2 Goblins
0-4 Ogres
0-12 Young Ogres 90k
MA 5 ST 4 AG 2 AV 8 Skills: Thick Skull, Bonehead (Gen and St access)

Works for us.

Balrog : I don't like your "Young ogres" but perhaps I'm just too fond of standard ogres.

Fair enough, it's just that you can't have a team capable of fielding 8+ full fledged ogres, it would kill game balance. And if you had an ogre team that was less than half-ogres, then it wouldn't be an ogre team now, would it?

Special rules limiting the number of players on the roster and field is a bad idea. So, this team is a nice compromise IMO. I would even get rid of the goblins, but in my league the players wanted the roster to keep them.

And what about the presence of semi-ogre in the ogre team (something like 4429 80k like black orc blocker) ?

Balrog if you change the name of young ogre to semi-ogre I take it :)

Whats a semi-orge, is it like a human on steriods?? i like Orgelin, but thats just me personally :)

Young orges, could use some addition to the aging roles, roll twice, to gain nigilings as usual and a second to determin if they become a "full ogre" the role can be hard for the first three skills but getting easier as time goes on (cos they dont stay little for long!)

just my two cents, feel free to rip the piss out of me :(

A semi-ogre is a being who his father is an ogre and his mother is an human.

Why not just call them Ogre Linemen?
The ogres who weren't good enough for the non-Ogre teams. Their strength wasn't enough to outbalance their ineptness on the field, so they only play on Ogre teams.
The ogres all other teams have are Ogre Blockers.

Simpler...and it keeps it as purely Ogre as possible.

I like the idea of Ogre linemen. Just because it's a big guy team, it doesn't mean that they can't have different positions.

I would think it's the opposite: ogre mom and human father. Otherwise i pitty the poor female for what she had to endure during conception!
