I have to say I found the Oberwald invaluable when running my league. My players really appreciated having a reference for all the rules permutation and possibilities.

Um, I don't read the LRB this way, actually. From 1.3, p 35, description of frenzy: "If a frenzied play pushes back an opponent without knocking them over, they must follow up the opponent and then throw up another block at them, which is worked out using the normal rules" (emphasis mine).

Note the pushes back clause. I didn't think you could frenzy a stand firm (or double-down roll with both players having block) at all. If any rulz gurus would care to comment, that'd be great, since this is starting to come up in the league as players pick up stand firm.

The rules guru's have, somewhere on tbb, and the answer according to a variety of sources all say yes. The push back referred to is the result of the block dice not the physical result.

This is clarified on page 34:
3. Some skills refer to pushing a player back in order to work. These skills will work as long as you roll a push back on the Blocking dice.

I've always found the Oberwald to be completely worthless. I read it once a few years ago, and many of the "official" rules were wrong, and some of the "semi-official" rulings on there were very silly. People would try to use that as an "official" source with which to argue with commishes and such, and we had to explain to them again and again that the Oberwald was not an official BB thing in any way. "If it's not in the White Dwarf..."

Anyway, hope I'm not stepping on toes here, and it HAS been several years since I looked at it so it could be better now, (also means I can't give specific examples about what was wrong) but that's what I remember.
Well I wouldn't say it's "worthless", maybe irrelevant if you are talking about official rules. But if you are having trouble with a rule in your league it's a nice way to look at what other leagues are doing.
