You won't. If I got that correct, there will be at least 2 Fling teams and 1 Gobbo team. I guess they will be who fight for the wooden spoon.

.....yeah, yeah, I know there is that killer Fling with ST1.....but remember: he's DEAD!!!!

Take Nurgle! I bet you do better than me with my Vamps :)

I was getting nerves about taking my vamps and nearly chickened out and went back to my Dark Elves, but even though I just lost a game to goblins on PBeM they are great fun!

Also, Nurgle will benifit from lots of skills by the end of the tournament, and the chance of doubles on skills!

firebreather wrote:Take Nurgle its obvious you want to really  , dont know of any of the other black shirts taking them, will definatly be some amazons teams there. Besides the 1st round based on Naf ranking so your nurgle will get to play a team equally as useless as themselves in R1 :
Bizzarely enuogh my Nurgle ranking is actually better than my Amazon ranking, due mostly to an ok performance at Spikey with the Nurgle (see Dwarfcoach's post :o ) and a pretty abysmal one with the Amazons at Carnage.

Tojurub and Ryan appear to be taking Halflings, which could make for some fun Nurgle games... *cue evil laughter* And Ember's Vamps provide a safety net of sorts - we could have a four way wooden spoon dash! EDIT - of course, I forgot hoomin's goblins. Will they be dodging or throwing this tournament?

But as Hangus says random skills will really hurt the Nurgle, and they're not all that to start with. I'll bring both and decide on the day I think.

Why will random skills hurt Nurgle, particularly?

You've only got three types of players that can get an award, none of which will be wasted;

The BON gets Guard (or block/claw on a double)
The Warriors get block or Guard (or claw on a double)
The Beastmen could do with a smattering of block, tackle, sure hands and dirty player (or big hand on a double).

I used Chaos at Paris recently and can confirm that skills on beastmen aren't wasted (in fact I gave them five of my six allotted skills).

Before you criticise someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when they find out, you're a mile away...... and you have their shoes.

Add another Gobbo coach. I'll try gobbo's for this tourney, see if I can get my 'fun-rating' up, and my 'serious rating' down. Should'nt be much of a problem though.

The teams that WILL be hurt by random skills will be the ones where coaches have to rely on a small proportion of their players for standard plays.

So Wood Elves (no strip balling wardancers) and the Undead ranks (no skiled up mummies, werewolves, golems and ghouls - but loads of skilled skellies and zoms) will suffer. And to a lesser extent IMO, Chaos Dwarves.

On the food front, rather than grab an evil McD's on Sat morning, those that stay in Belushi's should check out the world-famous Borough Food Market (on the corner by London Bridge tube stop) for a fan-daby-dozee choice of breakfast. Best ever bacon sandwich, best ever omelettes, best ever etc. Or wait until they get to the pub where food will be on sale.

Oh and Sproutman, please don't agree with anything Hangus says. He might be a blackshirt but he's still a northern monkey.

Well, maybe its just the way I play them but I tend to find Block on the Beast quite important, as its pretty much the only edge the team have (other than lots of foul appearance I suppose). He's rather good for cage breaking, and its always fun to watch ball carriers try to dodge away from him. With Block the beast is nasty, without he's a liability.

Sure, everyone can use skills but some can use them more than others! I suppose its less that it will hurt Nurgle and more that it won't help them much, and they need all the help they can get. Or at least, they do when I'm playing them.

Anyway, you just want me to take them as the more I play them the more you pull into the lead as top UK Nurgle coach! I'm onto you Geggster...

And Hangus may be Northern, but were he a monkey he'd have had a hard childhood considering which bit of the North he's from.

I think you're confusing me with a certain Mr Watson. I'd only be interested in a den of inequity, capisce?

Sorry to everyone else for an in-joke. Normal service to be resumed and if that busybody-Hangus hijacks this thread again, he'll be given 20 bonus points this weekend which will take him right out of contention for last place. That'll learn him.

Good Hangus, but it did take about half a decade. Hardly the snappy response I was expecting from the scourge of Hartlepool.
