Oh, and my preferred lineup would be:
4 Blitzers
3 Catchers
1 Thrower
4 Linemen
1 Apo
4 RR
1 FF
Though I might be tempted to trade in a RR to turn a liner into one more catcher and some spare FF, as this tourney gives two skills to random players, I'd want to max out chances to get skills on Blitzers and Catchers.

Thanx for the info Gorbad.
I do like your line-up, for offense and the high RRs, but on defense you would have to put two catchers on the team. And as many people suggest are these tournies strength over loaded. Ok you could move the catcher to many places to give assists but they can go down quite fast with strength 2 and on block, of course they have dodge to protect them, but dwarves don't care about that.
I would rather go for a team with an oggre: he gives you an edge on both offense and defense, ok he is a liabilty but that's my game plan, sometimes a little luck can make a huge difference.
I have to admit he wont be doing much normally, he would most of the time be there to stand in the way and do an unimportant block at the end of a turn. But if you are in desperate need for that one blitz which can break the hole and make you win the game, he might just be the solution...
That's how I feel about an Oggre on the humies.

But you should do what you feel comfortable with, I really like MA8 Dodge guys on defense personally, and Big Guys are too much of a liability on a RR overloaded team like humans (Skill RR and Regular RR)

Personal experiences differ and all... I always have more trouble with fast humans coupled with blitzer backbone, than I have with 'Ogre powered humans'. Certainly with Orks, I know I can catch 'em, and kill 'em at my leisure.Norse wrote:I think Jairo's original line-up would worry me more than your Gorbad.. luckily for us we iz greenskinz so we don't care!
BTW, I managed to get the friday before off anyway when my manager realized I still have 12 days left this year

So I'll be at Sloterdijk when you want me to be.

I agree with yavatol that you should have a thrower and some fans extra instead of 4 RR's.
But I don't quite see how you can hold the line vs Orcs or dwarfs with two ST2 players on defense. Of course they are very mobile and can lend assist wherever needed. But they lack block and against dorfs their dodge skill is useless.
As things are looking, there might be a great chance of meeting Orcs and Dwarfs and imho humans are faster that those two races without 3 catchers.
I though bringing the Oggre in to make it easier to hold the line and maybe he can knock a CAS from time to time.
On the other hand it seems appealing to have a little more fans than most of the other teams would have, because those PI, Cheering Fans and Getting the Ref are match winners.
I'll look at the most used line-ups for dwarfs and Orcs, and what other teams are popular in tounies? Undead, Norse?
Like that I can figure out what is the best way to defend against those teams, because scoring in two turns is most of the time not the problem for humans.

I see your point I'm taking this far too seriously :p I could make a whole study on how to beat the opponent and get beaten by a series of skulls and ones

I will have to try playing humies with lots of catchers, I don't know what the strengths and weaknesses are.
I like the Ogre fine, but he can get quite anoying when he goes Boner on the right moment. You always expect him to do the right thing, but that's not what the Ogre thinks (if he ever thinks

So maybe playing without a big guys gives you what you expect and enables you to make better tactical plays... I will try it out!

We were cheering because you lost that game!Draco wrote: I thought my flings won by scoring that last TD in that big stadium! (At least the crowd was cheering as loud as if it were the winning score of a final!)

grumble grumbleOh, and can the draw be fixed so that Tuern only faces halfling teams! He can't win against them!

I can easily see how a team with 4 Mummies wins a tournament where you face nothing but Dwarves & Orcs.
I just looked at the participating teams from last year's tournament and I don't like my chances as a running/passing fan.
In doubt : should I play something I like (Dark Elves) just to get my butt kicked by Dwarves & Orcs all the time or join the bad guys ... ?
