That's really disappointing. All the fuss and this is all they managed to do?

And I wonder: how does this team reflect the background that vampire teams don't do too well in leagues?

On average they have 3 ST4AG4 players and one ST5AG4 player on pitch?

That would be nice, as long as the penalty for being a vampire would be transferred to have an effect on-pitch instead of off-pitch.

I'll start a thread about it to the house rules section...

So there's not a lot of change then, except that the Vampire Lord is toned down a bit. No longer a block and Dodge at the beginning. That's a pity.

How about acces to skills, and do they now get a skill when everybody else does or are they still slow learners?

If they were going to bother to split out the three undead teams due to Warhammer fluff, it's a bit disappointing that we can't get different vampire bloodlines while we're at it. The application of fluff to drive changes in the BB rules -- like it or not -- is very inconsistent. I'd rather get lots of options with blood vampires, strigoi, etc., or perhaps better yet, just leave the original BB Undead team alone! :x

McDeath: you are right, Ghouls should have access to the regeneration skill or either be able to use an aphotecary.

We did houserule, that an Ghoule could take regeneration on a double for skill roll.

But yeah, there is something rotten in the undead team ....

I agree the vamp team looks a bit disappointing, and I wish GW (or Jervis?) would makeup their minds as to whether they are going to folow WFB fluff or not. Were are the Zombies, the dire wolves and skeles?

I thought this thread was a joke at first. I guess I was srong.
I agree this is very disappointing. Who's making this stuff up? Have they even played the game?
Not only does this team have dangerously high ST and AG but the vamps have regeneration and decent movement! Plus once these guys aquire a few skills they are going smash the crap out of everybody!
What's the downside? AV 7 on the thralls?
Whoopdeedoo!
Who drew these rules up? They should be stoned in the street!

If the Lord is killed a normal vamp gets promoted in his place. If there are no vamps available then the team disbands.
How does this promotion happen? Any stat changes? Off for a bite is lost? How about SPPs?

What a disappointment! As stated before, not much change from other Vamp team list except vamps toned down a little bit and fewer availabel. Just wondering if off for a bite is permanent RC or can be lost?

I can see they were trying to get away from the "classic" undead team but this team doesn't really fit in with the fluff at all, which is the reason for splitting the undead team into 3 (I think?).

As I said above, the team should have skeles, zombies and prehaps dire wolves (if someone could make balanced rules for them), and the thrall should be dropped.

My stab at it

1 Head vampire (as above)
0-3 Lesser Vamps (as above)
0-12 Zombies (as classic)
0-12 skeles (as above)
0-2 Dire Wolves 7/3/3/8 Regen, Furious charge (as Horns), cannot pick up ball G+S+RSF on a double 90K(?)

too powerfull

Post by Pallino »

I think this team too powerfull! :pissed:
At the start of your league may be you can heve just some powerfull players (for the reason of theyr cost).
But after some match you can have a unbilanced team:
6 (hey! i've said: 6!) players with ST4 and AG4 + 1 with ST5! :pissed:
MV 6.
May be i don't know the rule off for a bite, but try to put them side ti side with a Lizardmen Teams: ST4 but AG1 :pissed:
or an High Elf Team (No Big Guy) :pissed:

There is no hope to destroy them (regenerate)!!!!!

So, this is just for the other teams... Because for my little dwarf nobody is too hard to cannot die!

So who's the one who animates and controlls the zombos and skellies, the head vamp? Do the zombos and skellies loose regen if he is out of the game (tossed out, cas, killed, etc)?

Buggered if I know, that was all off the top of my head. If anyone thinks it's got possibilities then they're more than welcome to change it how they like. I was justtrying to show a more "fluff"-like roster.

Yeah well, DaFrenchCoach, I don't put JJ's stuff on some other level. JJ wrote the 4th edition rules after all.
IMO JJ needs to start playing Blood Bowl in a league again if he wants to write rules for it!
I wonder what he's drinking in the tub when he writes these rules?
