well just dropped ewan off at the airport so he can carry on the the travelling escapade. didn't take as long as i thought to drive back to blighty and the stir crazy moment when we were nearing newquay city limitis was funny as hell.

had a great tournament, so my thanks go to all the organisers and the opponents i played. finished 3-0-2 in the end. lots of fun by all. sunday is now officialy the best day. winning two games (against lucy and miloquaser), getting the coimeback king trophy and both spurs and the steelers winning. life doesn't get much better. :D

now i'm going into hibernation to recover from the exploits of the weekend. 36 hours travelling in 4 days can really start to take it's toll eventually.

Unbelieveable. Talk about "Rage Against The Machine"; then the manager came over with his dodgy moustache and emptied the lot out of them :pissed:

Still great weekend, if a bit of a "shocker" (think many of my opponents heard me say that word) in terms of my 2-2-1 record. Still good fun had by all.

Highlights: Walking in the red light zone and a bloke poking his head round the glass door of a prostitute on display asking "Kick me? Shpank me, ya?" Fer-hucking hilarious.

Also, all the members of my room in the hostel who snored and farted the Frog Song on the first night.

Geggster explaining the difference between a 'mucky tart' and a 'filthy whore' in terms of English connotation to Joris (spelling?).

Woodie dancing like my dad when the Steelers took SuperBowl XL home.

Walking in to Geggsters and Lycos' room to listen to the animal noises eminating from the back of Valens throat (no he hadnt swallowed Grumbledook whole, merely snored like a rutting moose)

WOW!!! :o :o :o
That was totally unexpected, both because the very high level of the coaches attending and me playing a new team I've never tried before, both because I really didn't realize I won until Yavatol call my name during the award cerimony!!!

You cannot imagine what a shock have been for me (and my italian mate!!!).
My tournament was good only for the fact of a good result and because I had the chance of a couple (ehm... a couple???) of beers with friends which I can meet only 3/4 time a year, then I discover I won...

Great!!!

Thank to everybody for the great tournament, the organization, my opponents, those who wants me to win, everybody in Legendz (hope to see there the Dolphins -rotten fishes- next year) and everybody was there.

Just for the records:
1st match: Venomous Breath - Norse
After 2 years of Norse, I totally forgot "frenzy" (maybe still drunk from friday night) so a shock start. But I managed to press him and force him to score quick, so I got a 8th turn draw in half 1 and a 8 turn ball management in the 2nd to a 2-1 win, Cas 3-1

2nd match: Keskommander - Necro
He got a strange (IMO) roster without golems, he won the toss and choose to kick. I got an hard 8th turn TD (good defence) and in the second he force to draw, but force too match and I recover the ball twice for a 3-0 victory, 2-2 cas

3rd match: Margot - Orcs
As it happens in most tournaments, I had to play my fiend Margot once more... don't think that because she's a lady she doesn't know what BB is all about 8) I was scared cause I always beat her, but with Norse; this time I was playing Undead for first time... Well, the tradition helps me, and thanks to an her early (and bad) error i managed to steal ball and score on turn 8 of both half. 2-0, cas 3-2

4th match: Bluedevil - Skaven
Ok, now thing start to be very hard... he scored 14 TDs in previous 3 matches, I'm scared!!!! I was a 2+ from disaster already in turn 5 half 1, when he missed an handoff catch for an easy 2-0 lead. Get the ball back and managed to score in final turn of each half (luckily, very luckily, very very luckily)!!!
It remains only one turn... then the disaster again: i made a terrible error in the setup, kickoff event was a quick snap, he got a sidestep gutter (Yavatol, do you remember?) the ball landed close to him and he didn't fail a single dodge: one turner and 2-2!!! :( (cas 2-1)

5th match: Lizardcore - Skaven
Already sure my run to the top was over. In the try to score quick my opponent fails a 3+ dodge with a gutter, after that, thanks to HIS roll dices (ie the TRIPLE skull of the Rattogre), I got the ball and almost never leave it, while bashing his team (good choiche Block on the 2nd mummy instead of a Tackle). Also try to go for the 3-0, setup 11 against 3 mouses, but I risked the 2-1 instead.
Well done anyway, I defend a 2-0 victory with an amazing, and focal for the tournament, 7-2 cas.

At that point I still didn't believe to win, I know at least a couple of player with the first 4 matches won and I saw TuerRedVenom winning 4-1 against Bluedevil in table 2. Just go out for a beer and forget about the tournament...

Then at the award cerimony........ :o :o :o :o :o
Well, you all know how it's gone :D

See you soon, sorry if I've been long.

Spelling correct! :D

Had agreat time. My fifth place (4/0/1/) a bit too good, since I absolutely ROBBED Lucifer (geoff?) and Longfang (del) from a tie;

Glad my opponent on table 1 (match 5) didn't suffer a heart attack :) -
(though indeed it was a tense game)

it looked to me as if Sir was going to have an epileptic fit more than a heart attack Joris... I was shaking a bit in the last turn vs Longshot to pull off the 4+s I needed to draw, but your opponent was actually registering on the richter scale.. :o

FINALLY HOME!!!

Approx 1200 miles, 4 flights and 1 moment of madness later....

Great time was had and thanks to the organisers etc for all their work (I'll try to get the movie done as soon as possible but perhaps today I'll relax)

Special thanks to Andy for driving the whole way (both journeys) on a sleep deprivation experiment  -

Yeah, I can't help it. The joy of playing stirs me like a spoon (hands up both of you who can identify the quotation there). There's quite a few players out there now who comment on that... In my defence, it was a rather tense match. Both Joris and I could have won the game (and the tourney) in our respective last turns and several "lucky shots" during the game showed both of us how quickly the tide could turn.
