Norse Team Models?
Heya there,
Im starting a Norse team and Im new to Blood Bowl.. I was wondering how I am supposed to get ulfwereners or snow troll?
Im planning on converting my team using chaos marauders but wanted at least an idea wht a "ulferener" looked like.. and wanted to know if there was a snow troll in existence?
Many thanks!
Roger

ok so there isnt ANY Snow Troll or ulfwereners by Games Workshop then?
I am mystifed as to what a "ulfwerener" looks like..
And Im assuming all of the norse team has normal base size except for the Snow Troll which would take up 4 squares correct?
And do people always use round bases? does anyone ever use the square bases?
Cheers!

Oficially the GW Snow Troll is a Yehtee model. I'm rubbish to be able to tell you which ones .They are also called "Yehtee"s in certain dialects anmd Snow Trolls commonly.
The Ulfs are a were bear or were wolf depending upon the Ulf. (So it is your choice as to which each one is.)
The Wilhem Cheney (spelled poorly) star player is a Good Werewolf model if you are looking for GW. And/Or you could modify / use a Necro Werewolf figure.
That said I highly recommend the Impact Snow Troll and I believe they might have were figures coming out soon too (if you are not locked into GW figs.)
Cheers.

All players in Blood Bowl take up 1 square. No exceptions. This change was made as part of a simplyfying of the rules MANY years back. In fact, if I hadn't seen people repeatedly asking this question I would never have known that it was ever any different.RadStar wrote: And Im assuming all of the norse team has normal base size except for the Snow Troll which would take up 4 squares correct?

Most players agree that the large round "monster" base fits better into the square than the square base which can make a model look like it is in one of many squares.

No, but it looks so much nicer, particularly Ewan's fine sculpt mentioned above (the Impact Snow Troll)
(Must paint mine...)
As for Ulfs, I took a couple of Boris models from Heresy Miniatures and got antipixi to greenstuff some long hair/fur around the head and shoulders for a hairy nordic psycho look. I must finish painting them, too!
Norse are great, but be prepared to cry over their AV7 prettty much every game
Oh, and welcome to TBB

I use the Impact! Snow Troll as well. But I also have a GW Yhetee for if I ever need to field a 100% GW legal team.
Needless to say my Ulfwerenars are GW legal.

For an easier model I'd just go with the Necro Werewolf, it's the right size for ST4. Use the Wilhelm model for the Necromantic Were.

I've just ordered my own norse team, for the ulfwereners I decided on beorg bearstruck from the warhammer range.

Probably the most appropriate current GW model, and is a lot nicer than the ridiculous looking necro werewolf. wilhelm chaney is quite nice as well, but isn't in the online store and since he's back in BB now I thought i'd rather go with a different model for the ulfs.

Much as I'd like to agree with you, the Beorg model is awful imo. I was going to use the same fig as a regular Norse Blitzer back in the day, and changed my mind when I actualy saw the fig in the metal.Vaporizer wrote:Probably the most appropriate current GW model, and is a lot nicer than the ridiculous looking necro werewolf. wilhelm chaney is quite nice as well, but isn't in the online store and since he's back in BB now I thought i'd rather go with a different model for the ulfs.
Not that the Necro WW is much better mind you.

For the Ulfwerenars I'm considering using Plastic Chaos Marauder Torso & Legs with Beastmen Gor Heads & Arms.. I think it would work well?
Or should I go Bigger.. and use plastic Rat Ogre bodies with plastic wolf heads?
Snow Troll, I like the idea of a Yhette.
Cheers!

A mate did that for the Spiky Open, but to use as the Berserkers. A nice gaming team (as in the painting was to gaming standard), but my personal opinion was (and still is) that they were just about distinctive enough for berserkers, they wouldn't really cut it as ST Ulfs.RadStar wrote:For the Ulfwerenars I'm considering using Plastic Chaos Marauder Torso & Legs with Beastmen Gor Heads & Arms..
