IV. Dungeon Bowl + results

Post by CoachRattenfetza »

Hey guys,

THANK YOU for this special tourney and 2 days of outstanding Blood Bowl action!

Best Overall: TIM aka Tim Ibe
Dungeon Bowl Champion: BANELAORD aka Daniel Metz
Runner Up: Bärbel Becker
Best Painted: Harriet Fitton (Amazones)
Most Sporting: David Candish (22)
Most Violent: Florian Schulz (23/ +17)
Most TD's: Michael Homberg (20/ +12)
Best Dugout: Thorsten Bartsch

TIM will receive the results within these days...

+++ +++ +++

Last night I awoke after my tournament koma; I made a mistake with the signed gaming board - not listening to my own words - but the many others ringing in my head - I named the wrong coach for this special price!

The award for pure love of the game and a special performance goes to Mrs. Mali El-Sawaf. With outstanding 19(!) sporting points and 4 scored TD's she also fought both days hard and played like she smiled - lovely to watch and nice to play against!

Cheers

First... thanks for another great weekend and a great tournament. Everything worked fine and the visit of the "Mexican" was great again.
Ah, BTW... nice, that some people showed up at the friday night "Greece", too. Pity, that no English TBBs turned up.

And thanks to my opponent coachs, too. I didnt win a game playing a Human Team (4 draws and 2 losses), but i got a lot of fun and learn (hopefully 8) ) some new things , too. i.e.
- Never leave a ball alone laying around next to your TD zone without putting a guarding player next to him, if you play against Halflings!! Especial if you got 4 players sitting around, doing nothing else... ... there is always a chance of a little one coming flying along... !! :o )
- And thanks for showing me the deadly powers of a Goblinteam (LRB 5.0) using a chainsaw for some turns without a TD !! Argh !! Second half i just got 5 man standing !!! :o Maybe i will play a gobbo team next saison myself?!
- It becomes real hard to score or to do anything good at all in a game against Woodelves... if you dont get any of those " dodging, leaping, picking up the ball- $%&%$& " from the pitch!
- There is no "relaxed " game #3 at the second day !! Thanks for this... a interesting game against chaos dwarfs ! :)

Just one remark about the painting contest.
There was this great painted amazone team which won the best painted price. Really.. it was the best painted one in my eyes, too. A real nice painting job !! :o But it was not painted from the playing coach as i heard after my voting for this team. And this was the reason i changed my mind (and my vote, too). Maybe its only my opinion, but i would prefer the way of the best painted team contest of all other tournaments i visited : The coach ...playing the team... has to paint his/her team himself if he/she want to bring the team into the painting competition. Maybe a small notice into the rulez booklet would be enough ? What are the opinions of the others ?
I knew, it would be hard to check, if someone painted his team himself anyway. But as kind of a gentlemen agreement ? Actualy, someone never painted a team well and getting a price would be suspisious anyway, or ?

Another thing... there was a real agressive advertisment for a special tournament outside from Germany in the middle of my last turns of my last game !! I think, this kind of action should be banned from tournaments!!! (OKOKOK, I will think about the Schnitzel Bowl ! 8) )

I will post here, when i put my picts online at my website.

I second that, the coach should have painted the team itself.
I always point out that my necro team has not been painted by me, if it comes to "Best Painted". Imo those many hours of painting a team really deserves a Best Painted nominee or even the prize, but not a quick click on a "buy" button.
Just my 2 cents

I'll give it for this three times. This award should never be able to be purchased.

Thx for a wonderful weekend of pure Bloodbowl mayhem. Thx to all my opponents for 6 very nice matches. Pls forgive me traveller for beeing this pest of woodelf coach not rolling ones 8) Thx to Sascha aka Rattenfetzer for nice Orga as last year. The new dungeon looked really cool. I would have loved to play in it.

Pls post the results here as soon as possible. I never left a tourny without knowing my performance. Its not the most important thing, but I want to know it so badly

Like every year, my bloodbowl season starts with the Dungeon Bowl. I hope for a nice season as last year. Cya all guys.

Mali's NAF name will be Mali as soon as i registered her ;)

Just to get it straight, as i'm listed first in that award list ... Daniel is the winner of that tournament from a common perspective. I'm just the guy that came up with a decently painted team and lured enough people into giving me their "day favorite sportsmanship", probably by having Nobbla constantly hacking on them with a chainsaw (for little litte result) ;)

thx again for a great tournament, and a special thanks to Sascha. You did a great job again.

@Painting Contest: I agree with trav and the rest. Best painted ONLY for coaches who did the paint job and not for person who buy a team on ebay or something like that. its also a little bit strange to add paintnig points to the overall result. one dungeonbowl 1 olaf got the overall prize but did not paint his team. its not really fair for coaches that cant paint but try it. and a coach who win the overall prize but did not paint the team by him or herself..... i think you know what a mean. it has a bad taste when you win a prize for something what a other person did.

Again a very good Dungeonbowl. Great job, Sascha.

And Bärbel would have won the whole thing, but her Skink had to roll a 1 on the crucial GFI and broke its neck

If the GFI had worked, she would have been out of reach of the Dwarves and would have scored an easy TD.

Great Tourney, back from 8 hours driving through Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, France and final home!

Thanks to my opponents, great guys all of them. I used Khemri for the first time and they are not that easy I found. But 3-1-2 is ok.

Btw, I agree with you Traveller on the painting award.... the winner DID tell GW it was not painted by them but apparently it didnt matter. In other tournies here in the UK they dont qualify. I know there were 3 teams out of the 10 not painted by the player (and I think a 4th too) and I know all 3 told GW they were not painted by themselves. So I agree that needs amending in next years rule book. (ps.. the Amazons didnt win I dont think, the Undead did?)

I have a hard time thinking about this. I drive 7 1/2 hours to my in-laws house. ALL but 1 mile is in the state of Michigan, and I could drive for 2 more hours and still not get to northern Wisconsin. You just drove through 5 countries!!! :o Amazing. :D
