Discuss Fantasy football-style board games - GW's Blood Bowl, Impact!'s Elfball, Privateer Press' Grind, Heresy's Deathball, etc. THIS IS NOT AN NFL FANTASY FOOTBALL SITE!
Subject really says it all... What is your Blood Bowl music of choice? Or do you prefer to play in silence? Obviously playing online gives you the choice of music compared to face-to-face without opponent complaining
It kinda varies on my mood for me, being an Orcy BB coach I prefer some good old rock/metal stuff to get me in the mood for clobbering.. Or rather trying to clobber. Though I also flick to my Icewind Dale (computer RPG) mp3's which has some kick ass fantasy tunes to get a more passive thinking mode

Never really thought about it in a great deal of detail, choice of music tends to be whatever the person who's house we are playing at wants to listen to.
On the other hand some CD's we played a lot when playing in our old league so it's hard to listen to them now without thinking of Bloodbowl. Becks Mellow Gold being one.

The short answer is "no", but it is a qualified "no" because there are odd ways of interpreting the question which could justify the answer "yes".
Most of the time we play in gaming spaces at stores so the music would be absent, or whatever is playing in the store.
That said, I am partial to Loreena McKennitt as it has a somewhat fantasy feel to it, and I think makes great background music in general. I often listen to her while painting as well, so, continuity.
Actually, the music has to correspond with the team you're playing. My nun team really loves gregorian music, while my undead play better with Wagnerian style music. Gothic music is reserved for the other teams.... My friends unfortunately are no longer distracted by these...
Norsca, although I don't have them, should only play with typical Scandinavian Rock. Odin worshipping rock that is....
Well, there is this Norewian band called Nightwish that really really gets you to the mood of playing Norse, or even Chaos Dwarves. Also, y tried playing Blind Guardian's 'Nighfall in the Middle Earth' on a Chaos vs Dwarves match .. really nice.
Then i bought LOTR soundtrack, and played some games with it loud.
But my prefered music is alt. rock, so i always end up playing while listening to Foo Fighters, 3 Doors Down, 3rd Eye Blind, ... or even switch to punk rock.
Amazons should play well with Enya and Irish music, i guess .. although i would reserve Wolfstone tunes for Dwarves.

I'd prefer to staple my face to the backside of a rhino.... than listen to Motorhead....
For Halflings the obvious choice is that annoying Laughing Gnome song by David Bowie.
"Ha ha ha. He he he. I'm the laughing Halfling and you can't catch me!"
It will annoy your opponent so much that he might just .... kill himself... kill you... or kill your entire team. Provided the 3rd option will happen anyway. Go for it.
I was totally convinced that Leonard Nimoy's version of ''Bilbo'' was THE nr 1 for a hobbit team.
You can listen to this evergreen here: http://www.fantasy-scifi.net/jrr_tolkie ... php?cl=134
Just click on ''ballad of Bilbo Baggings'' on this not very English site.
You should have put a poll up.
At the club i run we have some kids come so we cant really play the music we want. Normally it would be guns'N'Roses. You would get the whole room singing along and dancing in their chairs. Other times it would be Metallica S&M.
Because i go from work straight to the club (its in the same building) it would depend on the day ive had. A bad day = very nasty/heavy. A good day = sing along rock.

The Cutlery King - Winner of 6 Wooden spoons... and proud of each one!
We don't tend to do much listening as we usually play when kids are asleep somewhere in the houses or wives have the telly on close by.
Although if we had a choice it could be anything from classic chilled stuff upto Motorhead "Ace of Spades" or Iron Maiden "Run to the Hills" for some old style nutty music depending of course on how the game is going.
love that stuff.
Of course "A little less conversation" by the King isn't a bad play either.

At the Edinboro Castle during the first few league seasons Andy used to have this godawful softc*ck house/jazz fusion CD on permanent rotation. Used to drive me up the wall.
Played the Wodell boys to the tune of the Pogues when we were up there. That went down a treat. Bit of Tom Waits is also good for the mood.
Once played an online game where I was listening to a new Orbital album that I just got that day. Album was great and it got me geared up for the game. Must have been a lucky album cos I got the most incredible dicerolls and ended up winning 6-0
