Looking for faeries minis

Post by Papa Sebco »

I would want to have a wood elf team which really has a forest identity, so I will have a treeman and plan to also use faeries minis for the catchers (by "faeries" I mean small elf females with wings).

Do you know some beautiful minis like that ?

Thanks in advance.

Freebooter has 2 female fairies:

And there has been a game bei KenzerCo called Fairy Meat. There´ve been several factions of fairies available as metal minis. Not top notch sculpting quality though. (And the minis are OOP)

Thanks. That's the kind of minis I'm looking for, even if it seems it will be difficult to convert them. This is written in german and I didn't understand what scale it is. Do you know if they fit well with BB minis or if they are too big ?

And do someone else know other faeries minis (just to compare) ?

Galak has some faerie minitures that he uses for pics on the MBBL2 faeire team. Shot him a PM to ask which manufactuer they're from.

Kenzer & Company have a game called fairy Meat. It's an 1:1 scale miniatures wargame. They used to produce miniatures for it. I don't think they do anymore. Perhaps a quick look on eBay could turn some up.

Hmmmm ... so then Impact! trying to get hold of Kenzer and offer to sell these is probably not a good way to go. I honestly cannot remember the figure quality.

Thanks to everybody for the answers.

Concerning Freebooters minis, they are 42 mm, so too big to be STR2 catchers according to me. But I may be interested by old Grenadier faeries (I will look on Tritex website to find them, thanks Tritex) or by Kenzer & Co out of order minis if Impact! re-release them (as I plan to order Impact! new egyptian minis when they will be out).

If we do license to do these figures ... it would not be probably until October/November before they would show up in our store.

Okay, thanks for the info Galak. I'm not hurry, I'm painting a Nurgle team and an ogre team, have my norse team painted by someone else (who's a better painter than me) and then I will have to take care of my wood elf and dark elf team. So I can easily wait until the end of the year. ;)

PS for Tritex : I went on your website this afternoon and saw Grenadier faeries but, as Freebooter ones, they are bigger than Blood Bowl minis (more than 40 mm). Thanks for the idea, they are nice minis, but they are really too big for what I plan to do with them.

They should have samples to show you.

I worked for Kenzer at german biggest game fair "Spiel" in Essen in 2000 (manning the booth there along with Dave Kenzer). I played Fairy Meat there. It was a fun game and I snatched a copy as part of my payment 8) . The minis are, well, "old school" - like Ral Partha minis from the early 80s. If that´s what you´re going for, you should try to get a look.
The wings are pretty thick, not at all like the wings of the freebooters e.g.

I LOVED Fairy Meat!!! Great fluff and the rules were funny to read. The figs aren't that bad. Certainly NOT Freebooter quality, but I would say they were at least as good as The RAFM lizzies.
