Think about it. Why does the 'declaring actions' rule exist
You got me. That thinking stuff is foreign to me even when Im sober. Personally I think the declare rule is horrible. What if my Wardancer changes his mind half way through his blitz action and wants to pick up the ball and throw instead? I need it explained to me. Every rule change I see is meant to improve the game in some way.(IGMEOY,Sigurds injury, etc.) How does "declaring" help our game???

Maybe we should have a pass,hand-off, and blitz token and during your turn you flip them into a cup like tiddly winks. If the token goes in you get to take your action, if it doesnt, your action is wasted.

Thumbwrestle and the winners team "Gets the ref!"
At the start of each drive whoever can pound a beer the fastest gets a Team Reroll.
Hammer rules: If your player "dies" you flatten the model with a hammer!!
Whichever coach can perform the "Macarena" with the most style ups their FF by 5 for this drive.

I started off sarcastic but I think Ive actually got something here!!

NOONE can do the Macarena with any style. Same applies to the irritating catchiness that is "Las Ketchup".

My league? we use the rule but we're not hugely concrete on it. Its the same as the Illegal procedure rule. Marcus' dice rolling thing is a pretty good guide I think.

According to the LRB 1.3 page 26, under Bone Head
"On a roll of 1 they stand around trying to remember what it is they are meant to be doing. The player can't do anything for the turn, and the players team loses the declared action for that turn. (So if a bone head player declares a blitz and rolls a 1, then the team cannot declare another blitz that turn.) The player loses his tackle zone until he manages to roll a 2 or better at the start of an action."
This is verbatin and should really end this argument.

We didn't use the rule, but after joining the NBBL we started to really enforce it to the horror of the forgetful bast**** who try to play dumb to get an advantage.

It is second nature now.

Nearly 90% of people on the board play the rule, I guess that means most don't find it too much of a problem.

I must admit the first couple of games are awkward - but if you are playing in a sportsmanlike atmosphere then its rarely an issue.

When we play we say that you have to say if you are Blitzing, Handing Off, Fouling, Nipping to the bog for a wiz and throwing (but you dont have to say to who). Sometimes we forget that we have an apocrathy and them its-
'.....NO!NO!NO! Ive got an apocrathy! My star player isnt dead!!!!!!.....'
When this happens we say that the player was taken off the pitch and fixed up in the locker room. They are treated as if they were KO'd.

LOL!!! :D
You have got to be kidding me, right? The LRB and the Annual don't contradict each other. The LRB simply clarifies it. Now why did it need clarification? Because (although the vast majority of coaches play the rule the way it was intended) you'll always get a minority who will argue that a declared blitz followed by a failed Bonehead does not use up your Blitz Action for the turn because the LRB doesn't specifically say that it does!
It was obviously (in some cases) causing confusion, ergo it (apparently) needed spelling out it black and white.
Irony? It's cracking me up here..surely you can see it....
Priceless...ab-so-lute-ly..priceless! :D

Well, he does have a point on alot of that stuff DW.
The werewolf from orks article? Did anybody really need to see that again?

We can't even get the Mags around here anymore and I'm pretty happy about that. If we did I would just buy them and then get pissed cuz all they do reprint the crap that was filler the first time it was printed. I can wait around and get the new teams offline for free.

If they want filler then they should ask me. I can type up 20 pages of filler for them every 2 months.

They charged me 7 dollars for 48 black and white pages on cheap paper. I mean BB mag #2. That is waaaaaaaaaaay too expensive when you consider that only 17 pages were new material. It's extremely overpriced when you consider that nearly all of those 17 pages are out-dated about a year and a half later.
I paid 7 bucks for that magazine and it's worthless now. It was nearly worthless then. I think when you are paying the same amount as a normal magazine costs it's not too much to expect a normal magazine.

Examples:
Star Wars Insider #63. Price: $5.99 98 pages, full color/heat set print and quality paper. About 25% of the magazine is dedicated to teh AotC DVD and Episode 3 but the rest is information that will be as relevant tomorrow as it is today. (at least to fans)

Blood Bowl Magazine #2 Price: 6.95!!!!!!!!!!! 48 pages, 1 color, low grade paper stock. 17 pages dedicated to fixing what was printed in the last issue and is now obsolete, the rest is a reprint of filler that was printed earlier.

My main point stemmed from the fact that I dislike the "lose your blitz/pass if you blow your BH roll". I see your point D-wing but it doesnt change the way I feel about the rule. I play the "declare" rule but have no idea what broken part of the game it "fixes". That is the point of the rules additions/ clarifications right? To fix things?

If you are entertained by how mad I was Im guessing you caught on long ago and stopped buying the GW rags that simply reprint things.

Whats that old saying "Give a thousand monkeys a thousand mechanical word processing devices and they will eventually write a Blood Bowl Annual" Oh yeah and if they're smart they will reprint everything in it once or twice to milk it for all its worth.

Why am I arguing about this?? I never use Big guy allies anyway!
I must have failed my bonehead roll before posting  But then wouldnt I lose my posting abilities for a turn??

What did you think an Annual is? It is supposed to be the best of BBMag for those who don't want to collect them, and/or want to have the rules in one place. I have all the BB Mags and I'll be buying the Annuals as long as they keep making them.
