Skaven Rat Ogre, still worth it?
I've managed to get Block and scored TD with my Ro. I think its a risky player before Block, but now he works like a charm!
I sometimes have to protect him sometimes with a few bodyguards when he have frenzied himself in a... not so favourable position. I do fear the day when my opponent have a few players with guard to as my bodyguards then no longer can negate those assists!

When your opponents' catchers are in the knockout or injured box, is he still considered too expensive? I got Block with my RO after the second game. The next game, I played a tough, undefeated Dark Elf team and Seriously Injured 2 of his blitzers, and knocked out his passer with the Rat Ogre alone. Went on to win 3-2 in OT. 9 Rats against 7 Dark ElvesSkummy wrote:I don't think he's worth it. He boils down to an expensive safety, and you can achieve the same thing more reliably and cheaper on a Skaven team with one or two rolls. Big guys need to be beating sticks, and he just isn't.

"But I won a game using a Rat Ogre" is not addressing the point.
The point IMO remains that with the rules as they stand, the opposing coach is given the option to play the Rat Ogre and not the ball. This is not at all a good thing for the game and it removes the WA coach's ability to make tactical decisions based on their player's negative trait.
IMO, must move first, can't use rerolls and can't claim assists is easily nasty enough for your 130k. Yes, they are still nasty, but that's kind of why they cost 130k and you can only have one of them.
Add the ability to decline to take your WA's turn (for any reason you choose) and you've put the tactical decision back in the hands of the coach while not removing in any way the ability of their opponent to neutralise the WA.

I won 13 games in a row without a RO, averaging 2 CAS a game. I'm not saying he can't be effective. I'm saying that with a little development, the Rats can get the same effect on a Storm Vermin. Mighty Blow is a skill they can take without a problem, and if you can't find an assist with Skaven movement you aren't trying hard enough. With the SV, you get the added bonus of being able to use a reroll. Is he worth it? Not in my opinion.Kamikaze Rudy

The only way I'd ever fear a RO is if he had Block, Piling On and Razor Sharp Claws. That would be a bit intimidating.
