BB game and teams re-release

I an a little off because I was under the impression that the Canadian release of all things BB coincieded with the US release date (this past monday), but I was informed this could be another week or two. I wanted to order the boxed game for a nephew as a Xmas present, but it's starting to look like that is not going to be possible, exp. if the release is still a couple of weeks away.

Anyway, I was looking over the US MO site, and I found it interesting that all teams are re-released in sets and booster packs. The problem with the boosters is that some contain figs that are not needed (players that only have 2 slots on team and already get 2 in team set and get extra in booster), as well some of the prices seem a bit too high, cheaper to buy seperate figs (it should be cheaper to buy boosters or else no one will buy them, just the seperate figs to round out the team). I also found it interesting that the halfing and gobbo teams come with a big guy each.
I also found it interesting that the Khemri team is called the Tomb Kings team (no doubt trying to get more interest in the upcoming release of the WFB army of the same name). It is also interesting to note that the mummies on the Tomb King (Khemri) roster were called Tomb Kings, not mummies, as the undead players of that type were call mummies. This might be GW's way of keeping the old Undead lineup.

Anyway, just some observations, thought some of you might be interested.

Well blisters will sell in the shops, its not always cheaper to use mail order after you add on postage ;]

There never were halfling and goblin teams before and I am not surprised they come with a big guy, rare to have a stunty team without one.

The tomb kings army is khemri, the terms are interchangable afaik.

If the khemri do become official I am going to build a team up using the undead mummies and skeletons, the khemri models suck :[ and the undead mummies are some of my fav figs and will become redundant if undead are scapped :/

Did cross my mind that the khemri roster should have 2 Tomb Kings (same as current mummies in the roster) and then 2 tomb guardians who have st4 instead of 5. It seems they are way powerful atm. In fumbbl the mummies were taken down to 3 on a team from 4, but i dont like having 3 of a position :]

The Khemri do have to be toned down, but I never liked the tomb guardians with Block and Guard, so don't know if 2 mummies (or tomb kings) and 2 tomb guardians would be any less nasty. I am presuming you are talking about the old tomb guardians from the Khemri team in BBmag1?

yeah I think so, the new one has the thro-ras and blitz-ras. It seems like the new one is a little more balanced, but I haven't tried either.

No i was just using that name, just instead of having 4 st5 mummies make 2 of them st4 instead and take the price down a bit.

Hey Torg, I was in my local Games Workshop store and they can get MO stuff into the stores for you if you can get the product number. So it saves you the postage as long as the order is over $15. The only thing I didnt check was if they can get stuff from the US mail order store. I dont know if you have a GW store in Red Deer Colin but if so you should check it out.

No GW stores here, but thanks for the suggestion anyway, Toby. There is only one store here that will get GW stuff and he gets it from Edmonton and winds up taking him a couple of weeks. Looks like a trip to Calgary or Edmonton may be in the near future.

Even ordering MO in the UK GW stores can take up to 2 weeks as orders are despatched along with the store's weekly deliveries. It may be free delivery .. but everything has its price.
