Weather Counters

Hey all,

I did a quick search and I don't think these have been posted before. An online shop called Litko Aerosystems has some fantastic markers which would work really well as a reminder of weather.

I've sent a question about the possibility of an extra custom marker for sweltering heat (basically the yellow sun, but in red material) and possibly even getting different words on the bases to suit the game.

I'd probably use the white clouds as "Fine" and ditch the black/grey wind token (I can't think what it could be used for, anyway).

What do people think? We need this guy to make a Blood Bowl weather set!

Got hold of them 2 days ago and set up a dealer account with them along with having them start work on the modifications. Litko will be producing a custom set for Impact! to sell hopefully in our store by the end of the November.

However ... they agreed since we were first to ask that it would be an Impact! exclusive set .... (so if they tell you someone already contracted it Virral ... it was us just so you don't get surprised by their answer).

The black token will be replaced with an amber sun with wavy lines.

The Fog description will be changed to Nice
The Heat description will be changed to Sunny
The Amber sun token will say Heat.

They'll be available for $10.00 in our store (ie the same price as the generic set they sell).

Just two days ago, I started a thread in the Spanish BB forum to order multiple sets of these weather markers (last count was 22 sets after 2 days). Considering your set will be customized for BB, we will wait and order the markers from Impact! as soon as they are available.

We were also thinking of ordering several sets of these markers, with captions such as ROOTED, PRONE, STUNNED, and NO ZONE (which would work for WA, BH, RS, etc.). Would Impact! consider adding such markers to their range?

I'll post to this thread as soon as we get them and I'll make sure we get enough to cover the Spanish BB forum's need. I know the first half of your October order is on the way currently and the 2nd half will be on the way as soon as Mephisto links up his bank to PayPal. So we like taking care of you guys.

Yes .. let me look into this and I'll post my thoughts on what we could do.

The reason I need to look into this is because another company make tokens like this before and GW shut them down in under 2 weeks.

They actually used GW images though ... so I'm thinking generic token should be okay.

I'm thinking we could do a generic set for each Big Guy. I have thoughts on this let me check it out.

(Btw, I think Mephisto finally got that issue solved, or so I hope!)

Regarding the weather counters, I will let you know the approximate number of sets we need by early next week. Now I might be sounding a bit unrealistic, but would there be any chances of getting those counters by December, 14th? One of the biggest Spanish tourneys is scheduled for December 15th, so it would be the perfect place to distribute the counters. No need to rush anything, it will be great either way.

As for the tokens, let us know what you find out. FYI, people had already requested over 50 tokens with different captions.

I must say these weather tokens look amazing and I would by them when sold.

Other tokens (I understand that they would be for big guys) would come in handy because I am looking for something to use.

Keep up the good work and keep posting these great ideas.

I think this is doable. Litko is only 15 minutes from my brother's house ... if needed I'll have him run over and pick them up for me.

I called today and they are going to work on making us two sided Prone / Stunned tokens as well. I'll look into the other products as well.

Hmm... I didn't actually get the response you were expecting Tom, but perhaps the guy I get an email from isn't aware of what you're setting up?

"We can easily do the custom weather effect token set for you. If you want to share this with the Bloodbowl community You will need to order at least one set. I will then photograph and give you a link to share with the community to order this set themselves. The custom version will be the same price as the existing set."

If Impact is already on it though, I'm happy to wait. I've also been thinking about the Big Guy tokens so good to hear someones doing the work for me on that too

Last but not least, I really like the look of some of their tokens for general reroll/turn counters, particularly:

I can definitely tip in with a recommendation for the Litko guys.

I used their Custom Token system to do some Prone and Stunned tokens for my Big Guys. Playing a Khemri team, and using Ushabti(sp?) as the mummies takes up a lot of space if one or two are knocked down.

Rather than double sided ones though, I had two sets done in different colours, Blue for Prone and Amber for Stunned. They have the wording etched into the tokens, I had this put on them :

Big Guy
Prone

and

Big Guy
Stunned

They work a treat in clearing the clutter up.

So I won't be buying a set of Prone/Stunned tokens, but I will definitely be hanging out to grab some of the new & improved weather tokens from Impact once they're ready. And I suspect our league will generate another 5-6 orders (at least) as well.
