Looking for a shop keeper/vendor of some kind
I'm looking for some kind of shop keeper figure, someone who might be in a booth selling hotdogs and booze at a BB game.
I don't mind what they look like as long as it is mildly vendor-ish, but it would be really great if they came pre-painted (I'm an awful painter, seriously awful, and I don't want to muck around getting something painted just for a little side project).
Any suggestions?

I don't know offhand of any suitable figure that will come pre-painted, but the bare figure that jumps to mind is the Innkeeper from Reaper's "Dark Heaven Legends" line, item 2583: "Townsfolk I" pack:

The pack comes with all three figures and is $12.99, but if you order directly from Reaper, you can get him alone for $3.99:

That's definitely a good pick, thanks for that.
I've wondered if there is a Clix figure of some kind that might be appropriate. Was there any superhero shopkeepers?
I know there are HorrorClix and D&D prepainted figures, so I'll have to see if I can find pictures and see if anything might work.

It's possible there could be appropriate pre-paints in those lines, but I don't know of them if so. Reaper's actually started a pre-paint line as well, but it's still brand new so the number of figures is small, and they're all monsters so far. But the line is all pre-paint plastic versions of their existing Dark Heaven Legends figures, so it's possible they might have a version of that Innkeeper... someday.
Good luck in your quest.

Good luck in your quest.

First off, I hate wizkids. Why oh WHY must they have a separate page for each image in their Clix lines? And if that doesn't delay things enough, the website is also extremely slow to load, making it virtually impossible to search for suitable miniatures.
I did find a figure that would do in a pinch, from the D&D miniatures line. It's not beautiful, but it certainly fits the bill, and since he would be behind a little booth it's even less important for him to look perfect.

I also thought about using completely inappropriate miniatures and then explaining them away with a suitable catchphrase on the sign.
Eg, using a fire elemental of some kind, and calling it "Flamey's Burgers... cooked while you wait". Perhaps a Death and Fire elemental figure and call the shop "Kill'em and Grill'em". Or some kind of hideous monster and having the catchphrase "don't ask what's in them, just eat one".
Something like that but... you know... funny. Suggestions welcome

If you want something menacingly off-beat, I just got in "Pigskin" from Comfy Chair Games http://www.comfychairgames.com/pack.php?pack=16 and I'm quite impressed!Virral wrote:I also thought about using completely inappropriate miniatures and then explaining them away with a suitable catchphrase on the sign.

(on the other hand, "The Torn" turned out too light for any use next to 28mm minis

I've got some D&D Tavern Brawlers that I planned on using as extra Norse linemen/journeymen.Virral wrote:

You could have one if you like.

Oooo he looks quite promising. Did I just miss him or is it from a different miniature line?
Thanks Geoff!
I did have another idea which was to set up a "Zombway, Eat Flesh" booth and pop some zombie miniatures behind them. I'm confident I can find pre-painted zombies SOMEWHERE. Suggestions welcome, super bonus points if it's a fast food zombie!
I'll probably have two booths, so I can set up the Zombway booth and a Beer booth, so best of both worlds!

I build one myself from a Skaven Plaque Monk Set. Simply make one Rat from the scratch, then build a frying pan from a gong, put a small Rat into it and paint it good
Then you take one banner, put it on a second base and make a price tag on it. At last, make a little cozy fire below the frying pan and you have your own "Kentucky Fried Skaven" :>
