Top 25 Warhammer miniatures of all time.

Post by Darkson »

Countdown starts here

Anyone (without insider knowledge) want to take a guess at what will be #1?

(And it would be nice to see if they make these available, seeing as the cast them for this article).

haven't read the rules, but i guess its going to be something big, flashy and expensive: e.g. forge world heirophant.
must say i'm glad they've put the familiars on there - they were great models.

No, if you were being cynical, you'd have said the new ghouls.

Dear God no, that could make them money from a source outside of the boards divined master plan which must be followed (to the grave) at the expense of all sensible ideas.

What were you thinking man?!

I think it'll be the "I love my shiny warhammer above all other things knight" mounted on the "blind and misdirected chaos business theory steed of certain financial calamity".

My vote goes to the original Great Unclean One.

Nice to see the Hot Pot in there, but what's with the really uninspiring young dragon?

I have to agree on both counts. Love the Hot Pot ... but the Young Dragon just does not seem to belong in the same category as the other 12 miniatures shown so far.

Galak

we asked our staff across the whole of Games Workshop worldwide to nominate their favourite Warhammer models from the whole history of Warhammer.
No one said they have to be good.

I've a couple of similar favourites from the Rogue Trader days of 40K. They're not the best minatures ever, but the Imperial Army medic eating a burger, and the Imperial Army Beastman would get my vote if they did the same for 40K.

I've submitted my own quotes for each model they've selected so far. But they rejected them. :(

For your reference here they are:

25 - Crom the Conquerer - "I remember back in the day, my crom was a seventy threer and undefeated on the playground. Mind you, it was hard making him fit on the string."
24 - Snikch - "As 2D as a model gets!"
23 - Lord of Change - "Wonderful 'Reaching the top shelf mags pose', I hope his mummy doesn't see what he's up too!"
22 - Ogre Mercenary - "GW peaked with this model, it's been downhill since."
21 - Various familiars - "I like Gir best."
20 - Big Giant - "Bringing neck beard back."
19 - Dark Elf Executioner - "More like Dark Elf hamming it up in a production of Camelot."
18 - Chaos Dwarf Hellcannon - "Not a big hat in sight, but everything is vaguely phallic looking."
17 - Wood Elf Spell singer - "aka christmas pantomime fairy on wires. Is possibly a dude."
16 - Tyrion - "I love how he looks like he's about to fall off his horse. Captures the essense of High Elves beautifully. Is possibly a lady, I'm not sure with Elves..."
15 - Slann - "Fat toad on floating chair. Sounds like an episode of The Tick."
14 - Halfling Hot Pot - "Just like mom used to make (and serve)."
13 - Young Dragon - "It's green!"
