How many figures do I need to cover all my team options?
I’m putting my first orc team together for LRB5. I used to play 3rd edition and things have changed quite a bit since then. I would like to make my team so that I can play around with different builds and try different tactics. I used to play wood elves so the orcs are something completely new to me.
At the moment I’m thinking along these lines:
2 x Throwers
4 x Blitzers
4 x Black Orcs
6 x Linemen
1 x Troll
4 x Goblins
I think this should cover all situations/ team builds I might like to try out. But do you think I need more linemen to be on the safe side or is six enough, or overkill? I can’t imagine a build that uses more than six linemen, even taking into account the new journeyman rule. But I thought I would check with you guys before buying the figures. I guess I’m used to wood elf linemen and catchers dying pretty quickly and that is why I think I might need more.
Anyway I thought I would check with you guys before going out and buying all the figures. I want to paint them all in one hit.
Cheers
Hybrid
PS. Any suggestions on how many cheerleaders and other support figures I might need would be great as well.

You won't need anywhere near that many gobbos, unless you're an experienced stunty coach. Assuming that you play orcs in a "orthodox" style, you may eventually have two on your team, but never more. (I'd have more, but I'm a lizardman coach, I love stunty)
And the only reason you'll want 6 lineorcs is if you suffer a couple of brutal games in a row and need journeymen.
Don't forget that you might occasionally induce a player or two, so paint some figures like your favourite stars.

Thanks guys.
Would four Linemen cover it then?
I just thought that having six would cover the worst possible scenario. But I guess this comes from my days fielding Wood Elves in 3rd edition. Having only five players after three league games wasn’t that uncommon for me. My ability to fail dodge rolls with wood elves is only surpassed by my opponent’s ability to make the armour rolls and kill them when I do fail that doge roll.
The reason for the four goblins is because I anticipate that I’ll add to them and make an all goblin team at some point in the future. So I might as well paint four of them now

Yep. You won't ever have that many gobbos or linos. 2 each, maybe. 2 throwers, 4 blitzers, 4 BOBs, a troll, a couple of linos, couple of gobbos, you're covered.

When you get the point you want to buy the team send me an email at info@bloodbowlfigs.com.Hybrid wrote:Anyway I thought I would check with you guys before going out and buying all the figures.
I can give you a package deal quote for the whole team as long as you are getting 12 figures or more and have enough lineman/gobbos in the team mix. Should end up a better option for you than needing 2 Orc team boxes and one Goblin team box to have the full team.

Thanks whitetiger
Galak - Last night I decided I was going to convert the team using my Warhammer and 40k Orcs/Orks. Because I didn't want to buy 3 BB boxes at £25 each to get all the figures I would need. Now that I know you do custom teams I will have a re-think.
I’ve also got a couple of mates that were thinking of starting again, but they were putt off when they realised that they would need a couple of boxes to get all the positional players, because the GW boxes aren’t the right composition for LRB5. I’ll let them know that they can get custom teams from you. Hopefully this will make them start again.

Honestly the whole reason we set up BBFigs.com was to help folks in exactly your position.Hybrid wrote:Galak - Last night I decided I was going to convert the team using my Warhammer and 40k Orcs/Orks. As for your cost for your team ... My pricing for team deals is pretty straight forward.
Have at least 12 figures from the same BB roster in the team request. Have at least 3 Lineman or Stunties as part of the team.
Price will be the price of the figures on BBFigs.com less 20% (depending on the number of linemen/stunties ... round up if you have only 3 lineman/stunties or down if you have 4 or more to the nearest 0.25 of the amount).
Please note the 20% discount is only for the team deal.
If you order a 16 member Orc team and also want a Kroxigor ... the Kroxigor is NOT 20% off unless he is also part of a 12 man Lizardman team order.
Just wanted to be clear before I get emails from folks thinking BBFigs.com gives 20% to anyone ordering 12 or more figures.

Thanks for all the help guys
I guess I’m going to go back to my original 6 linemen in total then.
That makes 2 – 3 for my team build and 3 journeymen to be on the safe side. I’d rather get them all painted now before I start playing in a league. That way I don’t have to worry about painting anything once the league starts.
How many cheerleaders am I likely to need in a 20+ game league?
