NAF-What is it?

Post by Slinky78 »

Right, this is seemingly a dumb question, but I'm sure i had a look through the search engine a while back for NAF and none of the threads evidently answered the basic question of what exactly this NAF thing is. The number of abbreviations used on here can be confusing at the best of times, so I'm not really sure what all these bodies are, or their varying degrees of 'officialness' or influence. All I know is they have a non-functioning website, do some strange block dice, and are meant to be doing some rating thing. I'm assumung they're quite major as they seem to be metioned a fair bit.

NAF is an international BB coaches organisation which was concieved as something analogous to what the Warhammer Player's Society is to Warhammer.

NAF will offer advice and support to people wanting to run tournaments, they will maintain international player rankings based on tournament performance against other NAF registered coaches, there will be a site chock full of articles and other BB-related goodies. Plus there's the funky black and gold block dice that all members get which don't roll a great number of POWs but do tend to roll double skulls whenever a non-NAF player tries to use them.

More coming soon. The guys are working their socks off on the site but, as with any volunteer-based organisation, deadlines will be pushed back a bit.

Hope that helps.

Marcus pretty much covered it, I'll just add that members will get a rather snazzy membership card as well, plus 'special privileges for NAF members' at the Blood Bowl.

US scoring

Post by Slinky78 »

This is mainly for tchatter as he has those stats at the bottom of his posts, because I've noticed similar on here before, and now I've been watching too much CNN, and I've now got to know... When you write 2-3-0 (or whatever) which order is it? Win-Lose-draw, or win-draw-lose. Just generally an english league table would read win-draw-lose, but i suspect this is the other way. just to clear it up, so i don't waste anymore of my or anyone elses time thinking about this!

General US convention is win-loss-tie. This probably developed because most of the major US sports discourage tie games, but that's just a guess.

W-L-T

Yes, most American sports discourage ties... hence OT.

I wish it was W-T-L... but its not...
