My First post - Hi everyone!

Post by Robis »

Hi!

Im an old git (34) who just got back into blood bowl after a loooong pause.
I began playing sporadically around -89 (Together with the other famous boardgame from GW - Trolls In the Pantry, but that's another story)

For some time ago I went through my old Boardgame stuff and found my old Chaos Dwarf team.. or rather my old HOBGOBLIN team???
Don't know what I had been thinking (or drinking) back then, but it seems that I have 16 Hobgoblins.. and NO Chaos Dwarfs..? Well that's a challenge...

Well, missing the game, I bought a copy of the starterbox and I'm painting up the human team right know.
I'm also trying to get my old mates, who spend their freetime playing WoW nowadays, to dust off their Blood Bowl teams for a revival tournament.

A very fun game - I have missed it

Cheers!

Hej Robis!

Welcome back to BB! :) At 34, you needn't feel like an old git on this forum (Draco, for example, is at least 132 :o  ). If you are getting back into the game, you will see that the rules we use on here have changed from those that came with your starterbox. If you have a look around the forum (or go to GW's specialist games site) you can download LRB 5.0 (the living rule book). There are a few new teams and a few rules tweaks.

If you have any questions, fire away! We are, generally, a friendly bunch :) (There are also a few other swedes/swedish based players on here).

Currently an ex-Blood Bowl coach, most likely to be found dying to Armoured Skeletons in the frozen ruins of Felstad, or bleeding into the arena sands of Rome or burning rubber for Mars' entertainment.

A very fun game indeed. At 34, you ain't that old on this forum. That's probably around the average age of the guys that I play with.

Welcome back to the game.

Back in 2nd Edition they were completely separate teams. Chaos Dwarves were basically identical to regular Dwarves except they got mutations (and no Deathroller or Steam Killdozer).

Hobgoblins were in the fluff of the game a lot (mostly as the imaginatively named Hobgoblin Team) but didn't get an official statline if memory serves. One Hobgoblin Team member was said to have arrived a week early for every game because it took him that long to lace up his shoes.

Ack ... please don't use that age and old in the same sentence. Some of us long passed that number.

Welcome back to the game. Probably one of the biggest changes while you've been away the dramatic growth of organzied tournament throughout the world for the game.

If you want to meet what is normally a great bunch of fellow players ... I encourage you to go to a reasonable close tournament or two and meet some of those players!

Have fun!
