New Player Checking In

Post by Harrower »

Hi all!

I used to play BB waaaaay back, many years ago. Now, thanks to my group of friends, i'm starting afresh. I fully expect to receive many vast beatings since they're all tournament players, but heh, thats the best way to learn isn't it :D

I have no idea what team I plan to start out with, but am leaning towards Humans due to the great models. I understand they certainly aren't the strongest or beginner-friendly team, but what's life without a challenge....

Anyway, just checking in and saying hi before trawling the forum for hours on end :D

Praise Nuffle! Another believer welcomed back into the fold. :D Whereabouts in the country are you located? :)

Humans definitely are a beginnner-friendly team IMO. They have all the basic skills and can make all the basic plays work well (just not really well).

Cheers :)
Joe

I am down in sunny (not really..... incredibly cold at present) Bournemouth.

That was one of the reasons i've gone for Humans really. I figure they'll be good for learning pretty much all aspects of the game to some extent, rather than a more specialised team.

Plus, like I said...the models are awesome.

Welcome back to the game, and welcome to TBB.

Yes, humans are the best team to start-out and learn with IMO. You get to try all the different types of plays and get a feel for them. But they are hard to master, because they don't excel at anything.

Good luck, and have fun.

Welcome to the forum!

The human team is one of the two teams I always advise to newbies (the other is Orcs team).
The posicionals have all the basic skills they need to work right from the beginning.
Cheers

Hi Harrower, well as you can see Im in Reading and I know Bournemouth pretty well. (Cherries fan by any chance?) You gotta a league going doiwn there? Quite a few players in Weymouth, Andover and Southampton too.

There are lots of UK tournaments if you are interested, drop me a pm and I will give you the low down...but welcome back to the game.... its more popular than ever it seems.

Thanks for the welcome :D

I have to be honest, i'm not a football fan. Rugby and ice hockey all the way for me!

We do have a league running constantly down here in the Poole GW battlebunker. Next one starts march, so I plan to enter that one after playing as many friendly games as physically possible so that I at least get SLIGHTLY less battered hehe

if you find yourself not getting as many games as you'd like you could always join the MBBL (see the thread under General Chat) or just PM Plasmoid.... :)
