I don't know about the skill on players with a lot of skill options.
But maybe it would make a two skill Norse lineman worth having instead of just firing him for being a no-talent loser who can't seem to figure out how to guard.
The same thought had occurred to me. At 3 skills, 6337 Block, Fend, Tackle, Shadowing doesn't seem like a bad build to me.
In perpetual leagues I think a lot of coaches would sack and start again.
I usually don't bother with tackle on Norse linemen anymore. The true bash teams tend to have very little dodge, and I'm really only seriously concerned about the bash matchup, so I do fire if they get a second skill that isn't guard (except the first to pull it off, they get to be the kicker).
However would shadowing be valuable enough in a bash matchup? With two points of move on many bash positionals they can opt to sneak in behind five times out of six. This would seem to be very useful in a ruck near a sideline.
...or it might just be a good way to get hit more.
Also the bash ballcarriers tend to only have MA 6 as well and don't dodge very well, so in a partial cage breach or scramble it would seem to be a pain.
Oh, and I could see applications for making break tackle plays a little harder to pull off.
Still, it feels a little bloatish. But maybe it'd be fun enough bloat to try out.
