I appreciate the league structure comments. However I'm not the commish and it's a PBEM league so I don't know if there's much to be done on that front.

Well, I suppose I could play reeeeeally slow myself. Just fast enough to avoid them being able to get the mods involved, and encourage others to do that same. That in and of itself would be enough to knock them out of the finals and might alter their behavior...though that's the sort of thing that might also get you banned. So maybe I'll hold off on that...

Otherwise I do have a wood elf team I fooled around with for a while in order to better understand them as an opponent. Maybe I could bust them out.

Any particularily useful skills suggestions for tailoring the team to win those matchups? I would have thought that fend would be great, however looking over some teams it seems claw pombers on 200+ TV teams tend to have picked up quite a few skills, and juggernaut is a popular one.

Maybe in the long run do some firings of catchers that don't get +MA in order to have a credible shot at one turn touchdown in order to break the 2-1 grind.

Does anybody think it would be worth it to go after some cards? That rune card would seem pretty effective in the hands of an elf thrower.

A quote from the MBBL current rules in the general discussion forum...

*An underdog can tell an overdog challenger to retract the challenge (no penalty to either team) if the underdogs TV multiplied by 1.33 is still lower than the overdogs TV.

I might be wrong, but I can't see it being MBBL (although I don't know of any other active pbem leagues). Only 1 team playing the championships is a proper ClawPOMB team and even they only have one ClawPOMBer.

Don't really see why you would want to keep playing in a league dominated by a broken challenge system and some asshats taking advantage of it so I would say make a fuss about it, contact the other coaches who are affected by this, create a mob with torches and pitchforks and go to the commissioner.

But well as people said skaven and elfs can do a pretty good job with wizards and stars.

Also khemri could be an option, especially if the killer teams lack guard to take down the ST5, lots of dirty players and 3 bribes, and a blitzra or two with mighty blow and pile on.

Also if you go the basher route it is often a much better idea to bunch up on defense to protect your players and get in good fouls than to spread out to protect against the touch down.
