Ok. My team has now played 5 games, winning 4 and losing 1.
The team looks like this:
Blitzer with Block, MB (21 spp's)
Blitzer with Block (13)
Blitzer with Block (6)
Blitzer with MB (7)
Catcher with -MA, Dodge (10)
5 linos, one with Wrestle and one with Guard, one -MA
Apo, 4 rerolls, 4 FF, TV 1340
The 4 blitzers have a weird synergy that you simply don't get with just 2 blitzers. It's probably due to Diving Tackle and the implications that makes to positioning. Screening is just so much easier and Jump Up does increase the team's mobility. Due to this I'd like to find out how the team would perform with 4 blitzers with Block, Dodge, Side Step and Guard, supported by Wrestle linos, a few catchers to handle the ball and a Dirty Player lino or two to take care of clawpombers.
Sadly, I went and gave two blitzers Mighty Blow after last night's match. I now fear that I'm still going to be behind the dedicated bash teams on killing power. The team's TV is already 1340 with 11 players and 8 skills, only one of which is a double. When I get to 12 players (one more catcher) and, 7 more skills and 4 FF from dominating other teams, then I'm looking at 1600 of TV. That's clawpomber territory in Fumbbl's Blackbox and any team must be ready to face those teams by then.
The downside from concentrating on the blitzers (they have 76,4% of all spp's excluding MVP's) is that there's a clear lack of skills on the linos. I only have one Wrestler for cage busting duty. Most opposing teams by now have at least Block on a ball carrier but Sure Hands isn't yet prevalent so I could really use more Wrestlers and at least one Wrestle+Strip Ball lino.
