Which skill to get first, MB or PO?

I ended up choosing MB for my blitzer but it then struck me that I might have been better off going with PO if my aim was just to cause damage, has anyone looked into this issue already?

As far as I remember, PO is technically better for casualties, but has the problem you are lying down. MB has the advantage that you can hit and retreat. If you only PO when you break armour, I think MB is better.

All finger in the air stuff, but I've always gone: MB/Claw/PO when I am making killers.

PO is marginally better at getting cas, but staying on your feet makes MB a better skill for most players.

For Chaos they should probably mix up the sequence of Claw a bit, since on its own or in conjunction with MB its only better against Av9. So unless you are only playing against Av9 teams then having a couple of CLMB and a couple of POMB is better than four CLMBs.

I actually go tackle instead of PO for those cases, because the types of team who claw isn't effective against are 90% the same as the ones that use heavy blodge. With Underworld for example, I use one MB/Claw/horns/PO/Tackle blitzer, and the other MB/Tackle/Horns/Claw/PO (if I get lucky enough to develop them both that far).

Its a bit different for underworld, but I'd argue on the 2nd you'd be better off going PO then Claw. The 2nd then hits everyone with Av8 or less and the first the AV9s.

Yeah, I know...the thing is, I play Box, and with 3 skills on each blitzer, you are getting to the point where the opposing team has some guard or counterkillers. Horns allows you do to a ST 4 blitz, so you don't need to tie up a fragile player giving you an assist. That's *really* valuable on a team with not much ST or guard. It's a pain if they line up one space separated, because you need to move 2 assists in to get the 2d (one to remove the one to one side, one to assist on the one you are hitting)..and even then, if you push, your killer is stuck in a tacklezone of either the guy you were hitting or the assister.

I play the UW blitzers like daggers, blitz in to kill something, get back behind a shield of goblins.

Thanks guys, I think I'm happy with the choice of MB first. I've never yet taken PO so was curious how it factored in to the builds that go that way.

Yeah, MB first. I'd consider PO on mercs though if I just wanted to hurt an opos team and had a lot of inducements to spend.
