A foul taking a guy out of the game is worth more to his team than some chump throwing a last turn 1 square Comp for no reason other than the SPPs. If you fear a foulfest come up with a better way to prevent it than no SPPs. I like the idea of a Fine, but thats another thread.

How does it help your team more to foul on the last turn for SPPs than to throw a pass on the last turn for SPPs?

More SPP's than from completions and the chance of remove a problem player. Why else?

More SPPs is what's under contention here. You can't say "it should be worth more SPPs because it should be worth more SPPs". As for removing a problem player, not if it's the last turn and you're not gonna play against that team again.

"Not gonna play that team again?" Well under the official rules the challenge system takes away that argument but i scheduled league you never know who you may take on the final or the play offs.

As for the "more points than a completion" I guess I didn't read back far enough and I don't kow what you are suggestion here. I was assuming a comp was 1 SPP and a Casualty was 2.

Anyway, nobody ever told me a reason my system wouldn't work.

Can you post a link for your system, or is it in that Hugh Jass thread about SPP's for fouls/pushouts?

It's easy as:
All casualties are worth 2 SPPs.
IGMEOY stays the same but Dirty Players always count as having the eye on them. (Ths may be too hard on DP's but if so then just allow DP to be like 3rd edition again)

Any person who causes a casualty from a foul gets ejected no matter what the Ref Roll. (pending an argue of course)

I totally agree with this, I suggested the same a while back (except for the DP always having the eye on them).

Would it be an idea to award only 1 SSP for fouling?

After all, much easier to get a casualty from fouling, than blocking. This makes sense in realism as well. It's much harder to badly hurt or seriously injure someone standing, and on their guard, than having a bunch of friends help you, when you are using spiked boots to kick his head in lying on the ground.

Would still award SPP's without it being a SSp fest, comps are as much worth.

Would probably increase the number of fouls made, but still.

I'm Perfectly happy with the way it is, so if you don't like the suggestion, I really don't care one way or another.

Doesn't work, because you'd have to add a column to the roster.

This solution would definately work for me; makes sense in a realist sort of way (its a bit easy to figure out why some (insert important player here) is bleeding out or whatever on the ground while3 or 4 opposing players are getting back into position congratulating each other)

In an age of text publisher software (word, wordperfect, etc) that is a very lame reason to not add a rule. Say u just dont like the rule, dont say not to add it just because it adds some paperwork or needs some thot to create.

Actually, i might like the rule if not for that. But you shouldn't make every coach on the planet buy new roster sheets just because of a small rule change. This is a very major problem.
