I never blasted the BBRC's rules or the LRB. YOu are mistaken. I have bashed JJ, Fanatic, JJ's teams, and Milo. Not the hard work the BBRC does for free.
Tell me, what in the cards affects SPPs and fouling?
Just about any dirty trick that allows you to injure or other wise remove a player from the picth affects the dynamic fouling has on the game. And as you said money and to a lesser degree the magic cars and Magic Helmet.

happy? If you have no idea how more money, more players prone and more AV affects fouling then I can't help you.
Would you like to assist/set up this league? Currenly, I'm at uni 3 days a week, and working 2-3
Sorry, I go to uni 5 days a week, student teach, 3 days a week, and work 2-3 days a week. I'm currently enrolled in 3 PBeM leagues where I'm testing rules. So, pull your own weight and prove your own wild theories, I'm busy testing my own.
Last I heard, the PBeM tool still couldn't implement Dump Off, Pass Block, and a couple other skills. When did that change?
Never had a problem. Maybe you need to talk to Galak Starscraper? He co programs the software, can set you up with commisioner tools, answer your questions and alot of your ignorance to the LRB...and to my thoughts on it and the BBRC's experimental rules.

Like I said, your league is no proof because you house rule handicap cards. But if you feel it does have enough weight then send it off to Acerak, Neoliminal, or Milo. I'm sure they can help you out. But until I see otherwise I will trust the playtesting that went into the LRB because it works for the leagues I'm in.

If you are interested in bringing SPP's for fouling back, why don't you support "my 1 ref 1 roll" theory.

What I really do not understand:
If, as Foul-SPP-supporters declare, fouling has not been that problem in their leagues and the awarded SPPs have been neglectable, then why do they fight for their reintroduction so fiercly, especially if that rule caused such severe problems in other leagues? I see a large credibility gap with regard to their desire.
And, as far as I can see, Foul-SPP-opponents cover almost the entire elite of this board, and their arguments actually are significantly more convincing than those from the SPP-supporters.
BTW: One question to the SPP-faction:
Do you really think, that the current ruling has caused a deterioration of Blood Bowl? If so, it would be beyond me.

If you add back in SPP's for fouling, there had better be a BIG penalty associated with being caught. Being thrown out of the game would just be the start. A big fine (equel to the player fouled cost if killed half cost if permanetly injured, and quarter cost if other rounded up to the nearest 10k sounds about right) or somthing nasty should be added.

But why bother? The current system works fine.

Thankfully I don't think there is any chance of fanatic changing the rules back.

My position on the issue is this icedman:

Before the rule changed, I was not happy with fouling, after the rule changed, I was happy with fouling. I think the current rules are great as they are, I still get teams brutally fouled and I still use fouls myself. They are in their right place.

Saying "well how about reducing the SPPs" is pointless because I still disagree that you should get _any_ SPPs for fouls. If you give any SPP award at all it encourages it as a valid league tactic. Saying "but people won't get many points so they won't do it" misses the point also - these players are already unaware that attrition fouling is not a match winning tactic so why should they suddenly see the light now?

Changing the penalties for fouling just loads up both sides of the rule. I don't think it needs that, I think fouls have a balanced place in the game as it is.

Personally, you're not going to convince me because of the dozens upon dozens of games I've played against these coaches. I am not exaggerating when I said that they are the reason I quit playing bloodbowl. I simply couldn't get an enjoyable game anymore.

Please don't suggest that I am not listening, it's rather insulting. I am adamant in my position because I have not seen anything that would suggest there is a valid reason for bringing back foul SPPs. The closest to a good argument I've seen is team development for line players like Zombies. Well, you could always try the EXP rule.

Have a good one.

And now you're calling me an anti-fouler? I'm probably one of the most foul-happy coaches on this board!

Why should we come up with solutions? We're perfectly happy with the way things work now! You're the one who has to come up with something better if you want to replace the current system.

Only 1 card in all 3 decks makes one more adept at fouling: Blatant Foul. Your player is ejected from the game, you suffer a TO, and the opposing player is automatically injured
There are plenty of others. Grudge match, knuckledusters, under scrutiny(less instead of more), duh where am I? (how often did you not foul the guy with his own player with that card?...just the ultimate insult...and then prayed he got caught! )

there are more but i haven't used the cards in so long that i can't really think of them all.

Yes, it has. No I don't expect you to understand. My group is really good, great sports all around. I understand that some leagues are filled with tools, so I agree something could be done solve their problem. The goal is to get a rule nearly everyone agrees with, not settling at 51%.

As for the elite of the board statement, thats just stupid. I never realized putting your opinion on a message board made you an expert. This board is not the entire BB comunity, its a very small amount, and there are tons of dedicate BBers out there who have no interest in what we have to say.

I agree with Marcus on this one, The only problem I see in the future is the intor of secret weapons and the weapon player's ability to still gain spp's.

What I think we'll see is alot of "foul-yes!" players simply switch to daggers, chainsaws and and whatever trips their triggers.
That's why i think SPP's should be awarded to all casualties but the Referee rules need to be unified and consistent. Like I"ve argued a million times. A gutter runner with a dagger is more of a threat than a linerat who fouls yet, the linerat is ejected from the game easier and has aharder time removing others! IMO that's broken! IGMEOY was/is fine but when weapons hit the pitch the referree rules need retolling. I wrte up a brainstorm on a thread somewhere. I thought it was pretty good.

What pariah said. Perhaps foulers and sw's need to both use combined rules, with modifiers for results, i.e. bh +1 si +2 dead +3. Also have arguing calls have modifiers, in other words, if your fouler or sw kills someone and u argue the call u wont get them back on anything less than a 9 (use the old rogue trader rules where that would be a 6 followed by another 6) and your coach is ejected on a 4+ (in other words dont bother). Have sw's roll for ref everytime they are used and change the sw roll to an illegal attack roll that sw's and anyone who has fouled has to make after every drive. Reduce all the current sw rolls but add modifiers per drive for every use, in other words if the dagger guy never gets out the dagger he has a better chance of not getting ejected but the death roller that did 4 blocks and 7 fouls doesnt have a chance of being in the rest of the game.
