that's not true, skaven are soo much more than 1-turn scoring. i like to think of them as "poor man's elves" with mutations. how can you go wrong with that?Bloodbasher Masher wrote:Bleh, Skaven haven't got much else going for them besides 1 turners, and Wood Elves are just too damned breakable to be consistent.........Line up correctly and they will fail their dodges/GFI's eventually
and gutter runners are the most versatile players in the game...if all you see when you look at them is "one-turn score" you're missing out. Give one horns, dauntless, and block sometime... (that used to be only 1 doubles roll, now it's 2) Or try one with shadow, tackle, blk, and sidestep and they can get spps fast enough that 4 skills doesn't take that long.

well like a 1-turn scorer isn't a target.Bloodbasher Masher wrote:Gutter Runners with those list of skills would be targets. From what I've seen from other coaches, Gutter Runners tend not to last long enough to get that list. Even moreso now with the Aging table.

seriously a gutter runner is born with a big bullseye on his nose. (not a mutation) you just build up as much as you can.
I've played skaven in pretty violent leagues and got them up pretty high... the fact that you have 4, and that they often have blk and dge, means that despite their target status they can live a while.
Now, I haven't played skaven since lrb came out, so ageing might be an issue, but by the 4th skill they're not that likely to be too bad off...probably 1 failed roll or so on average. I'd keep one of those rats on my team with a niggler, he'd still be worth it.

you're kidding right? who would take the skill then? no way would i ever pile on if i could get hurt in the actual process of piling. you cushion your fall with the dude you're falling on!MistWraith wrote:I voted to reduse the bonus and make it befor the roll!
But, if you keep it like it is and make both players roll to break their armor (the one w/PO adds his st to his roll) then I would think it fixed.

I think your only problem is that your league hasn't realized how powerful fouling still is.Bloodbasher Masher wrote:Actually, we use the old "declare before AV roll", which is what some people what to change it back to. We STILL have problems with this way, now that fouling a prone player is more risky, especially with IGMEOY.
