Demo / intro ideas

Post by Gaixo »

I've been asked to run a Blood Bowl table at a local convention. Basically, something that a player with no Blood Bowl background, but a good general grasp of tabletop conventions, could step in and play for half an hour while being introduced to BB's mechanics.

Any ideas as to what might work? Optimally, I would favor some sort of mini game over a dry demo.

Cool. I'd love to do that. I would go with sevens, with one reroll allowed per turn. Colour coded bases matching a coloured reference sheet, possibly no assists. Don't worry about different races, just have a blitzer (6338, block) a blocker (4429), and a runner (7247, dodge).

I wouldnt have a player without Block called the blocker. That may confuse someone who is completely new.
I would suggest Blocker (6338 Block), Runner (7247 Dodge) and Lineman (4429)

TOs! You do not need multiple copies of rosters. It's a waste of paper.

when we do league days at the local shop we say hello to people, ask if they have played(most have), give a very broad rundown of the game, and let them know about the group. having kids teach kids is usually the best way to teach, but I am at an advantage bc my son is an avid BB player
