They need to change the rules for conceding. At present, if you receive first turn and concede, your opponent "wins" the game but gets no points.

It's a good point. I've heard of one concession in my 50-odd tournaments, but it does need to be in the rules.

Was that the one where one guy had to go to the hospital? Hardly classes as a concession in my eyes :)

Sadly I am aware of three coaches abandoning tournaments part way through, one half way through a match, none due to medical emergency so it is a genuine issue.

I am aware of people not turning up for day two as they are still drunk but not leaving part way through a game

I'll be going - and like Mike - playing for fun, and to win conventionally... with maybe an extra pass or foul in there.

Not sure what to take though. Darkies with Eldril maybe, or vamps with Wilhelm. Or rats with Headsplitter.

I don't think we will be able to take any skill - I expect they will FAQ that.

Anyone else thinking of going to this, or just me and Mike?

Ruth and me are going. Might be a couple of others from our league as well.

I think GW have played other tournaments in this way, my son won 2 of 3 games at a 40k tournament and I think finished last.

Like Resurrection back in 2002. I won 2, lost 2, got points for painting and sportsmanship and came 2nd (might have been 3rd, can't rightly remember unless I dig out the white dwarf mag.) Who cares, it's a game, stop taking winning as the most important thing. Be nice, play for fun, drink beer, smoke pot, meet new people and have a laugh.

I'll be going, and no idea what to play. Definitely will be looking to play for fun and try and win through not cheesing it by a pass every turn, but with 1300 TV maybe a few reserves for fouling!

Mike - do you have star players? ;)

Some proxies, certainly! They have confirmed on Facebook that star players can gain skills...
