I for one would love the 60k lineman. It would allow me to get lots of RR, and even better, I wouldn't have to be all that careful with them. Sure they have AV 7, but I can afford having an extra lineman in the team. It makes for a different way of playing elves.
Besides, I think the Block/Side Step combo is great as a Blitzer concept - they're not wardancers, but very elvish blitzers anyway.
Dangerous Dave wrote:The NoS roster on the other hand is much harder to develop as a current roster since there are more starting differences. I agree the Pass Block and Strip Ball alternatives are good starting points for another roster - however, not sure this should be an Elf Roster.

I'm with Dave on this one, NoS is much more interesting and unique then Leap. Any Elf can get Leap, but a rare few can get NoS. I can't see it being too strong, and it definitely makes them more "Pro".
Ireally like this roster. As with many posters I would prefer NOS to Leap on the catchers, for a bit of a change.
I would also like to see the High Elf team replaced with this, no-one uses them in our league anyway and with this new team I don't think they'll be missed.
I like the idea of beefing up the Dark Elves, a Passer with Sure Hands instead of pass and ST access for the WE and/or Blitzers would certainly make for a more aggressive play style.

I'm really undecided about this team. At first glace they look alot like slow woodies. Are they really that different than high elfs or wood elfs? I think the team is ok but I just don't think it's different enough to justify a 4th elf team while we toss out the Undead roster.
Not sure if I'd call them overpowered. Certainly a tough team and good for beginners. Just not needed. I think I'd allow them in a league but I'd toss out the High Elves.
I know this team is not vastly different to the High Elves, but it's different enough to the other Elf teams to be used as a replacement for what in my experience is an under used team (here's your cue to shout me down and tell me they're the best team ever )
Oh, and to add to their list of sins they are some of the worst figures in BB.

That's kinda my feeling too, but Jervis has decreed that the High Elves will stay. I don't have a problem with that, either, but in that case I don't understand why we're removing the Undead.

They are also, not stunty. But you can only take 4 of them. With skinks you have to casualty/ko about 6-9 of them to take out the lizardmens chances of wining. With the "new" elfs all you have to do is take out 4.
And, the Dark Elves are not the tough elves. They have the same base AV as the High Elves i.e. 8 for every player but one with 7. They are a try at bashy elves, but fall short of this goal (at least IMUHO).

That's utter crap. They don't need catchers to score. Even a team full of line-elves would have better chances of scoring than a lizardman team, due to the awsome power of AG4.
Those two teams are nothing alike. Lizardmen are one of the bashiest teams around and the worst at the passing game (at least gobbos and halflings can get thrown around ball in hand), while those new elves would be the most pass-oriented team of all races.
I still think that any halfway decently coached bashy team will take them apart. The only players that can out run most of them is the catcher. Their line can't hold aginst anykind of decent push.
Shure they might win the first few matches, because they out score the bashy team. But, by the time they get to the 4th or 5th match when half your team has nigglers/stat decreases/missing the game, you will start getting walked over.
I do not think they are all that great. Not hafling weak understand, but not anywhere as good as wood elves.

Milo, so does that mean you'll vote against their removal in October? What about other BBRC members? Have they shown their hand yet?
Personally, any league I run will still have the Undead roster, regardless of what the Rules Review says, and I think a lot of other leagues will to.
