Means you'll have to move your column 2 Squares back instead of just 1. Which may put some pressure on the column defense (hurrah, frankly), but surely won't ruin it...?

Front guy in column gets blitz-grabbed. Isn't pushed into anybodys TZ. Can't get surfed.

I'm super happy so far. MVP rule is likely to have a substantial impact on early development.

But I for one don't expect AV9 to rule all. Grab is nice(r), but will it be able to compete with the other power skills of the S-category? AV9'ers too will have lost something with the diminished power of PiOn.

Well, see....
I Wonder what else has been tweaked.
Interesting times indeed.

Cheers

1) Column defence at 2 squares has almost ZERO chance of stopping an offensive drive. It becomes almost pontless. The most common defence just becames pointless.... it is not the same game....
2) MVP rule is the WORST. It totally messes up balance in favor of heavy teams (any lizard picks 3 sauri, any Khemri pick 3 TG,...)
3) Grab has very little competition since PO if underperforming.... You know what high AV teams will give instead of PO.... tackle...messimg up Agility teams even more in early stages of development....

I could not be LESS happy.

I hope those are "optional" rules, because if not, they've not kept their word about not changing the game. :(

Not the game, just the skills :-)

Those changes change the game a lot.

I wonder where they draw the line for "core" rules if it excludes skills.

Pretty big changes yes. So far I'm mostly happy about what I've seen. But I already play in a league using Plasmoids CRP+, so the changes to the kill stack are less dramatic. Not too keen on the choosing of 3 players for MVP though.

Did we mention that Pile-On also requires use of a team reroll, evidently? Why not just delete it altogether?

If true that piling on needs a team reroll to be used, they could just have left the rest of the skill intact, as the effect would be the same - a skill no one will ever take. A skill that requires the use of a team reroll to be used at all sounds crazy to me.

They give us a D16 and then change the MVP rules to 1 of 3 players? Thump thump thump goes the head on the desk.

Wow - they sure nerfed PiOn very hard. Harder than PCRP+ did for sure.
It will be interesting to see how that pans out.
I sure agree that at the cost of a team reroll they didn't need to make it optional - or to take away it's ability to combo up. Ouch.
Will anyone take it now?

So Claw cannot be used with MB. PO requires a TRR and cannot have any modifiers. That leaves you with:

CPOMBer
Claw on AV, MB on injury.
Claw on AV, TRR for PO on AV, MB on injury.
Claw on AV, MB on injury, TRR for PO on injury.

Claw/MBer
Claw on AV, MB on injury.
MB on AV (because?)

POMBer
AV beaten, MB on injury.
AV not beaten, TRR for PO on AV, MB on injury.
AV beaten, MB on injury, TRR for PO on injury.
MB on AV, TRR for PO on injury

Claw/POer
Claw on AV, TRR for PO on AV.
Claw on AV, TRR for PO on injury.

Huge, huge nerf.
