With enough rerolls (and this team is cheap enough to start with 4, which is what i would do personally), AG4 is better than dodge, catch, sure hands and pass combined (if you only account for the reroll part of dodge and sure hands). Something that's worth in itself as much as 2 complete skills plus 2 half skills, can't ever be taken lightely.

The difference is AG 4. AG 4 means he can pass, catch and score TDs. This means he can gather SPPs much more easily than his AG 3 cousin and doesn't rely on lucky casualties/MVPs to progress.MistWraith wrote:The old elf lineman cost about as much as many positional players on other teams. Given time and luck, he could become a realy good player. But, the same could be said for just about any player.
Milo is also right - you have to have a different stat line to the other elves to make it different enough to be worth playing.

I am not saying that AG4 is bad, just that it is not the super great thing that many make it out as.
My Ag3 teams have no problem handeling the ball, passing, and scoring TD's. Shure AG4 would help them, but not at the cost of speed and AV. Is rolling a 2+ realy much better than rolling a 3+ and being a lot cheaper? I think not.

I would love to see this Cockerel becoming official. Maybe Shadow Elves?
And I agree with Zombie that the lineman are the best players compared to their price.
About which lineman is better:
They are better than amazons, since they cant throw the ball, cant catch the ball. The only thing they can do better is dodging (if not playing dwarfs) at the beginning. And they get blodge faster by SPP but not in reality. You ask why? I told you already! They cant catch, they cant pass, so this dude advanves faster, getting to their 2nd skill bevore the amazons (at least at same time)!
And I would go with Nerves of Steel while loosing catch!

(yes I know I'm taking you out of context)Milo wrote:... hence, why even make the new team roster?
That's what I've been saying all along

Say what you want, no matter what the rules for the team are, they are just a lame attempt to sell more figs. So it doesn't matter if the linemen are 60k and are like slow wood elves (or lightly armored dark/high elves if you prefer that approach), they STILL won't add anything useful to the game.

I don't think it's such a big thing giving the catcher NoS, I think being 100,000 pesos with all their skills - AG4/NoS/MA8 and having an armour of 7 they are gonna get pounded into the turf in short order leaving the elf coach without a star catcher and possibly having to cough up another 100,000 beans. I think especially for a rookie team they are more of a hinderance than a benefit.
