Loki - What makes most sense (and possibly RAW)
After all this is supposed to be a fun/random new thing to try with friends, so I don't think it will matter either way how it is played.

i think i agree with darkson's interpretation that there is no clause to turn of the pitch flipping mechanic. as worded, once it starts, it doesn't stop. clarification in the wording would be great so people can come to a general consensus.

Re: Elven Union pitch rules
I think RAW is "Once triggered, ignore further change of weather rolls and at the end of every drive roll to flip."
I can start to see where Loki gets his interpretation, but it doesn't work by grammatical rules. "Each drive" implies multiple drives, but the rule only talks about a single role. If the rule read "Whenever the rules call for rolls . . .," I think it would be possible.
That being said, I think Loki's interpretation is more likely RAI, but I see no support for that other than opinion.

Re: Elven Union pitch rules
ok... just to throw a little more fuel on the fire, i probably ignored an important part of the rules when i first posted, and that part is the explanation of when the rules call for a roll on the Weather table. so to clarify, the original, completely unmodified text is:
sorry for being dumb...
Putting the Weather table roll explanation back in, it now makes more sense to me that the reference to "each" drive is implying each of the drives where a roll on the Weather table would be required...Whenever the rules call for a roll on the Weather table (for example, at the start of the game, each time a Changing Weather Kick-off result is rolled or any other effect, such as a Special Play card), instead of doing so roll a D6 at the end of each Drive. On a result of 4, 5, or 6, flip the board to its other side before setting up for the next Drive.
sorry for being dumb...

Yep I was about to say that, I think that makes it obvious even as RAW this is not a permanent effect even from abridged text
