Just to confirm it is just one die 6 and that is where the ball lands, no more scatter rolls after that one roll?

Just in case you need the reference the scatter template use in on page 4 of the LRB. The last line says to roll 2d6.

The bounce is on pg 14. Incidentaly, if someone happens to be in the square, they'd get an opportunity to catch it.

And where do you start counting? Is the square with the ball on it number 1? Or is that where you start (hence the next square would be number 1)?

The first square of a throw-in is always the square on the pitch where the ball was last.
