Those results prove that Necromantic got quite a big bump in last year's rules and that Halfling peer pressure is still going strong.
Surprised there were so few Amazons though.

That's the thing with tiers. If you get them slightly wrong then you just replace the low tier 1 teams with high tier 2 teams like Necro and Humans. My understanding of calls for 'diversity' was that people didn't want to have to play the same teams over and over again. Not sure how replacing many of Amazons/Orcs/CDs/Norse/Skaven with Necro and Humans achieves that.

Kidding aside, we can't be too far away from a UK tournament reacting to the current trend by going very old school. Such rulespacks aren't uncommon elsewhere, and we're probably pushing at the limit of where tiering can go in some cases. People always like to be 'different', so what's more different at the moment than 1 m, skill before each game in the current environment? besters, feel free to run 'Old Bowl' in Thetford, I'd certainly pop down.
Whenever you shift a meta, there will be winners and losers. I've certainly heard a lot of grumbling about Necro (both how good they become and how numerous they are) and to a lesser extent Humans since the rules last changed, and I'm sure there will be similar feedback about whatever takes over this year. To some degree, Jim can't win, so I don't envy him.
Traditionally, this is an event that welcomes a number of once a year attendees and features a vanilla-ish ruleset. I don't actually think it would gain much from developing a 10 tier, hugely complex package; it is a grand BB party where everyone plays on an equal, familiar footing, and I sort of like that there is still simplicity in the BB world, considering what else is available.
Anyway. /words. As Jim says, he is listening. Let's see what this year brings.

Exiles open in 2018 was 1.05, one skill after each game. Mirrored the first tourney I ever went to.Purplegoo wrote:, feel free to run 'Old Bowl' in Thetford, I'd certainly pop down.

I think #flingnation needs a boost. Let's get more this year

TOs! You do not need multiple copies of rosters. It's a waste of paper.
Bribe level: good coffee.

Last year
T2 gained 1 skill and a double over T1(50k)
T3 gained 2 doubles (60k)
Now the step up is 30k from their to tier
If any one wishes to propose a fair and balanced rules that no one will moan about ever please email it over I’m sure we would love to discuss.
