Amazing match

Post by Anthracis »

Hi!
I just have to tell somebody about the amazing game some people had this week in our league. I never have seen that many td in one single match.
It was a Skaven team against an Orc team and it ended 6-5 for the skavens. And it would have been even more td if there would have been no riot....
Now I know that an ogre/goblin combination on a lucky coaches team is extremely dangerous...all 5 orc td were scored by that combination in one turn...
Just had to write about that interesting match

ciao

how did you score 5 tds in one turn ;]

did you mean match?

there has been one match in fumbbl where one gutter runner socred 11 tds in a match, though he did get 3 interceptions against a necromantic team, so well i will leave it up to you what you think about that

there was a skaven vs skaven match 2 days ago that finished 9-6

What happened in the other 21 turns of this match, then?

I'm curious to know.

Cheers

Orks

Post by Arkan »

... as I am trying to get my Orks to be more of scoring team, how did they do it?

hand off to the gobo, throw team mate, run to end zone? Must have been some very favourable kicks and some lucky rolling.

Still, sounds like a great game. Our best so far has been four or five TDs in a game.

I find it extremely difficult to believe that you were playing Throw Team mate correctly. It sounds like every attempt was successful. I'm not saying that that's not possible it's just such an extreme longshot that I have to think you guys missed a point or two about TTM.

I think we played TTM correctly, but I will check that again ;-)

Well, the guy playing the orcs was extremely lucky (as he is usually :-? ) so he threw really always the "6" when he needed to.....

Are you sure that you played TTM to take up the teams pass action correctly? It really changes things when you allow the orcs to pass the ball to the gobbo, then TTM him towards the endzone.

Bad defence as well on the skaven side ...

Yes, I think they did it correct.
The turns went as followed:
One gobbo in contct to the ogre. The other gobbo picks up the ball carries it to the gobbo at the ogre, hand off, then TTM, land and run....

It's really amazing how often that move had success...

But I think yes it was kind of bad defense on the skaven side...

Sounds good.

I need those magic dice. And I need to replace one or two linemen with gobbos.

Tim, you're not thinking like Orcs. You just have to take out that Skaven Linerat with Kick...

I'm thinking like an experienced Skavcen coach.

TTM one turners are very easy to defend:
- use a kicker
- put a line of 5 players over the full width of the pitch one or two squares from the endzone.

This looks like a i-don't-hurt-you-if-you-don't-hurt-me game.

Also, which good Orc coach would go for a one-turner if not in the last turn of a half? Less time to hunt rats!
