The Fickle Fates Of Firestorm - Gloucester - 14/06/25 - (NOT NAF REGISTERED)

Post by 8ulldog »

Hello fans of the noble sport of Blood Bowl!

Nuffle has taken a particular interest in a series of games in Gloucestershire, the home of the cherry and whites, cheese rolling and a thriving Blood Bowl scene. Located in the newly opened Firestorm Games in Gloucester City Centre, I am running this tournament so support some of the areas newer players stepping into the competitive Blood Bowl scene, with a NON-NAF REGISTERED day of 3 games with slightly longer timings.

Location:
Firestorm Games,
48 Westgate Street,
Gloucester,
GL1 2NF.

In the centre of Gloucester there is great access to public transport, parking and many local eateries.

Format
The tournament consists of 3 games of Blood Bowl using the BB2020 / Second Season ruleset.

Coaches will play 3 games against 3 different opponents. The first round will be paired randomly, and Swiss pairings will be used for rounds 2 and 3. This will be a resurrection format: your roster resets after each match (no SPP, injuries, raised dead etc.).

The official Blood Bowl rules, and all current FAQs and errata published up to the date of the tournament will be in effect.
In the event of any rules disagreements, TO’s decision is final.

Team Creation

Please register your team via the following TourPlay link https://tourplay.net/en/blood-bowl/the- ... -firestorm

All coaches will select a race from the official Warhammer races, the teams of legend and with the addition of the NAF created Slann roster and have a set number of gold pieces to spend on team creation (See chart below), following the team creation rules for exhibition play detailed in the rulebook. From this they must purchase all their players (at least 11), re-rolls and any sideline staff such as cheerleaders, assistant coaches, or apothecaries (and their ilk).

Inducements. Coaches can also spend from their treasury to permanently add inducements to their roster.
Eligible inducements are: team mascot, Bloodweiser kegs, bribes, weather mage, biased referee, Halfling master chef, riotous rookies, star players* and mercenary giants (11 players must be rostered first).

Team Tiers

The tournament uses a 5-tier system:

TIER 1 - Amazons, Dark Elves, Lizardmen, Shambling Undead & Wood Elves
-> 1.11M gold pieces / 6 primary skills / 0-1 Star Players

TIER 2 – Dwarfs, Necromantic Horror, Norse, Orcs, Skaven, Slann, Tomb Kings, Underworld Denizens & Vampires
-> 1.12M gold pieces / 6 primary skills & 1 secondary skill / 0-1 Star Players

TIER 3 – Chaos Dwarfs, Elven Union, High Elves, Humans, Imperial Nobility, Khorne & Old World Alliance
-> 1.13M gold pieces / 7 primary skills & 1 secondary skill / 0-1 Star Players

TIER 4 – Black Orcs, Chaos Chosen, Chaos Renegades, Gnomes, Nurgle & Snotlings
-> 1.14M gold pieces / 8 primary skills & 1 secondary skill / 0-2 Star Players

TIER 5 – Goblins, Halflings & Ogres
-> 1.15M gold pieces / 8 primary skills & 2 secondary skills / 0-2 Star Players

Skills
After building a team coaches may add additional skills to the players on their team (Star Players may not receive additional skills), according to their tier, as outlined below. All additional skills will need to be correctly identified (Eg loom bands, skill ings etc.). Secondary skill allowances can be swapped for a primary skill and up to 2 primary skills can be stacked on a player.

Stars
After rostering 11 players stars can be purchased as long as they are able to represent your chosen team though come with an additional cost the amount of GPs paid for them. Drafting a star player will remove 2 primary skills from your allowance.

Due to the tournament being in its first year and not yet having the notoriety of some others, the following star players will not be available for selection:

Morg 'N' Thorg
H'Thark The Unstoppable
Deeproot Strongbranch
Griff Oberwald
Maple Highgrove
Hakflem Skuttlespike
Kreek "the Verminator" Rustgouger
Skitter Stab-Stab

Tournament Special Rule
The Fates of Firestorm are fickle indeed and what is not to love about poorly aimed fireballs?!?!? Each team will have access to the wizard Horatio X. Schottenheim. Once per game, Horatio may cast the following spell:

"TAKE THIS! OOOPS..."

Horatio conjures up a fireball spell and flings it with his legendarily poor aim in the general direction of the action on the pitch. Horatio may cast this spell at the end of either player's team turn, before the next team turn begins. Choose a target square anywhere on the pitch. The target square is moved D3 squares in a direction determined by rolling a D8 and referring to the Random Direction template. After moving the target square, roll a D6 for each Standing player (from either team) that is either in the target square or a square adjacent to it:

On a roll of 4+, the player has been hit by the Fireball.
On a roll of 1-3, the player manages to avoid the Fireball.
Any Standing players hit by the Fireball are Knocked Down. When a player is Knocked Down by a Fireball, you may apply a +1 modifier to either the Armour roll or Injury roll. This modifier may be applied after the roll has been made.
