Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, England, known for its rich industrial heritage and deep ties to the pottery industry - earning it the nickname "The Potteries." But beyond ceramics, Stoke is also famous for a beloved local delicacy: the Staffordshire oatcake. Unlike the sweet, biscuity Scottish version, this oatcake is a savory pancake-style flatbread made from oatmeal, flour, and yeast. Traditionally cooked on a griddle, it's best enjoyed warm and filled with ingredients like cheese, bacon or sausage. For locals, the oatcake isn’t just food - it’s a source of cultural pride. Such an item only needs just one more event to raise its status to truly ICONIC… a Blood Bowl tournament!

And such is the pull of this humble oatcake it’s already part of the Midlands Championship Series!
