At first I agreed with all of you...

then I realized that it would inevitably result in some shmuck changing a good rule to sometung dumb because of what the fluff book said.

Sad but true.

Changing it because of BloodBowl fluff would be better then changing it for WHFB fluff.

Though I agree that neither would be a good situation. But isn't that what the BBRC is for, to look out for our best intrest?

I don't think they would do it (Sorry to be the bad guy). After the entire stink about the all fluff Orc 40k book I cannot see them doing it again. Maybe as a section in the BB mag or Annual, heck even a free pdf off the web would bee cool. I really think they learned a lesson about all fluff. Even though there is a group of people that love the stuff and will buy it, there isn't enough to make money at it.

I like the " fluff", I think its the only thing that provides continuity to the entire GW line.( Although at times it is stretched) Without the "fluff" we would not have a game. Piss and moan about it as much as you want. I hope its here to stay.

I think Bengo is correct, an all fluff book wouldn't go over with GW. There would also have to be some sort of new rules that would guarantee that all BB players would buy it.

Me Neither, I am still waiting for someone to post a list of all of the "free agents" from the BB computer game from way back in 95'.

I had an idea for BB a while ago (posted it here), in much the same way as the Codexes and Armies books we have... (for example) Playbook: Humans.

A book filled with fluff, new human stars, famous team lists and some special variant human teams :)

I think the idea of a Fluff book (isn't that porno-related :-? ) is a great one. I also think that producing new minis and rosters for famous teams is as a great idea. What it really adds to BB is a great one-off game. As it stands, if you just want to play a single game, you tend to start with a dull 1million (or whatever) gold coin team, especially if you are playing with an expensive team like elves (10 linemen/ 1 wardancer, for instance). This would allow you to play a game with a team full of skilled players and a full roster. The teams could be properly rated so equal, or unbalanced games could be played through choice.

So you want "Star players" for LRB?
Sounds like a plan to me. The fluff written recently has been too little and too piss poor.

Definitely a good idea, however I'm pretty certain that GW will never do it.

But, on the other hand, we have the NAF which takes in all kinds of articles. If a sufficient number of articles would be written, I'm sure that the NAF would be more than willing to put them all together and produce a fluff book in PDF format.

Add my vote to the "yes" pile. Perhaps a "then" and "now" look at the famous 2nd ed teams, with LRB rosters, and a "Whatever happened to...." with the SP from WD (Siggi "The Boot" Schuster anyone?) and the Dungeonbowl teams.

If GW is worried about new rules bieng in it or insuring BBlers would buy it here is another idea.

How about having the annual next year be 90% "fluff Book" and 10% the crap they fill it with now. That way anyone who wanted the annual would get the fluff book wither they liked it or not, and then I could buy the fluff book and get the annual I probably wouldn't otherwise buy.

GW has produced the first book in a series of four about the Chaos gods. Nothing but fluff. The first one is about Khorne, you can read about it on their website.

If these are at all succesful maybe there is hope for this book yet. The fluff that exist for BloodBowl is quite rich and leaves a lot to build on. Seems like a good area to release a book like the one described here.
