Is it time for some new skills?
I see some threads discussing some different skill ideas, just wondering how many people think that it might be time to add some new skills/traits to the game (assuming they are playtested and balanced) so that there is a bit more variety to choose from. If you say yes, what skills/traits would you be interested in seeing added to the official rules?
Ones like Trip Up, Stiff Arm, and Double Dauntless look interesting, could add to the game, and as they have been used in PBeM leagues, they have been playtested.
What do you think?

Aye, I'd like to see more skills, starting with the few missing from 2e
Probably add around 4 to each category with some "Off the field" skills that would affect winnings, fan factor roll, apothecary roll etc etc

Galak's suggestion in the "New Concepts" thread...Juggernaut. I really like that one - minus the ST5 requirement - as a Strength Trait.
I'm not familiar with the others you listed though, Torg...what're those ones?

Anything I say is totally opinion and (knowing my luck) probably completely wrong. Keep this in mind.

Galak himself thought the ST5 limitation was kind of limiting...I really don't like it because it gives teams with Big Guys ANOTHER advantage over teams without them.
Hell...imagine a team like Khemri with four Juggernauts when everyone else has one or two max.
Makes me cringe.

I guess that would mean the skill isn't really that balanced (or has the ablility to unbalance things), so maybe not Juggernaut then, though some of the other ones seem to have merit.
And Grumble, there is nothing that stands in the way of the BBRC fixing what needs to be fixed in the rules and adding some new skills as experimantal rules. Remember that major rule changes only happen once every other year and since last year there were only minor changes, this is the year for major changes. Yes, some new teams will be made official and possible changes to kick-off table, etc. But that doesn't exclude the possiblity of having some new skills as experimental rules (it will take a couple of years for them to become official anyway).
