Actually ... no it wasn't. The BBRC is VERY much on record as saying that the Undead, and 2 Elf teams received 2 extra positional players since they did not have a Big Guy.
Also, you are forgeting about the free re-roll they used to have. Give that back as well.
The free reroll was JJ after probably a very bad tub session which is where he thinks about most BB rules (quoted from JJ). Its removal was not taking something away from the 70k lineman teams ... it was fixing a gross error in judgement.

If the dwarf team ends up with +2 positions I hope it's troll slayers instead of blitzers or runners. I think adding two more AG 3 positions would change the team too much. Besides, if it is to make up for no big guys then troll slayers are the logical choice.

DL, this one is on the Hot List ... give Dwarves too more positional players to make up for Ogre removal.

Should I change this to 2 more Troll Slayers instead. Ie a specific reference instead of a generic one?

Grumble agrees ...

is this the better Hot List line item?

Definitely!

As a dwarf coach I don't want the edge that 4 blitzers would give me.

Dunno what the split is but some people would rather give them 2 blitzers.

This gives them 6 ag3 players which in turn is a greater chance of getting ag4 upgrades and 6 ag3 players changes the way they play.

Another arguement is that the trollslayers have av8 and that weakens the team. Though as the big guy is there for some up front str the troll slayers with dauntless lets the dwarfs go up against 4 blackorcs or chaos warriors. Otherwise when you get orc or chaos teams with a lot of block and guard, the dwarfs are going to have a hard time grinding them and well with the lack of speed and ag I think it leaves them like a fish out of water.

Maybe 3 blitzers 3 slayers could be done. I'm not that greatly experienced with dwarfs so well not sure what the consenus is on this.

I would rather see 4 slayers myself. If you are taking muscle away from them give them some back with the slayers.

I also like the justice in getting 2 Dauntless players to replace the lack of Big Guy .... okay ... I'll try to update the Hot List tomorrow for this.

If I forget ... please remind me.

Personally, I would think that extra blitzers would make more sense (there were 4 blitzers on the 2ed team), but realistically, all the anti-dwarf players out there would scream too much about the extra AG3 players (big deal, that's just average). Anyways, I would expect extra slayers to be accepted soooner than extra blitzers, though according to fluff, slayers aren't supposed to be that common, so personally I don't think more than 2 would work fluff-wise (and I doubt the BBRC would come up with and approve a totally new position).

And, to think people take his every uttering as gospel.

Regardless, the extra positional players just bring them in line with the wood elves (8 each). And, the woodies get a big guy. So if the big guy is self balancing, then why should everyone not have one? If they are not self balancing, then were the Dark Elves disadvantaged before when compared to the wood elves (because they had less positional players)?

It is my opinion that Big Guys should be self balancing, and that every team should have its own racially unique Big Guy.
