no i don't mean me. i do only have 2 bb teams to paint...but in another thread i said that the whole line of 3rd ed bb stuff wouldn't equal the amount of painting i needed to do. THAT's what DW was referring to, and that's what my last reply was about. you're getting the different posts confused.

hope that cleared it up for ya.

Yeah only chasing something like 7 or 8 2e figs now and some 5 or 6 1e..plus all the multis that you can never have enough of like cheerleaders..
Got a whole load of 40K stuff stashed, some Necromunda gangs, a shitload of LOTR plastics, vast amounts of Epic..Manowar monsters and flyers..I really have about 10 years worth of painting here right now...
I'm sure I'm not the only mug here...if you buy figs faster than you paint them then you're stuck in a downward spiral..the more years you do it the more it backs up..I reckon my personal formula is something like buying 2 years worth of painting each and every year.... :)
Scary or what...? :o

wesleytj wrote:hahaha...the entire line of bb stuff at once is not "a lot to paint". I have 2 bb teams, 6 dark elf regiments (all about 16-20 figs each), a d.e. dragon rider, a manticore, a war hydra, and half a lizardman army...about 4,000 points of lizards. Then there are a few random figs I need to get to for my D&D campaign I'm running (just finished a mind flayer actually) :)...
Well, I should get extra credit b/c I have to put the damn skellies together on the khemri team  . Actually, that's where my motivation is lacking. I've got 1 completely put together, and the rest are sort of in different stages. I haven't got sucked into warhammer, so I can't compare. For the time I have available, it's a lot for me to do. By the time I'm done, I'll be burnt out on painting for a little while (but I'll be starting my home made pitch in a week or so). At least TBB isn't the reason for my slow painting, its all the damn law books that clutter up my apartment.

I have a Khemri team still waiting to be painted (as well as a 2ed Human, skaven, DE, and Elf, as well as a converted CD team and a few odds and ends) that I got and put together when it came out last year. I know...I know...but after the pain in the arse of putting them together, it sorta put me off painting them. I'll probably wind up painting the other teams before I do the Khemri.

Not to go way off topic, but how are the LOTR? I was thinking maybe some converted Uruk Hai (i.e. clipped weapons and shields) would make for a good looking Orc/Orcish team. :smoking:

They're actually really neat figs, the whole LOTR range is excellent. But they're pretty much straight representations from the films, which means they're accurately scaled as opposed to the caricature style of GW minis, which puts them a little on the small size in comparison...an Uruk-Hai opposite a (example) Chaos Marauder just ain't gonna work...

Bummer. :-? They looked really good from what I've seen (only pics) and something about leading the "White Hand" onto the pitch to squash some skaven, halflings, gobbos, seemed like a great idea. :smoking:

You can always paint a white hand on your BB orcs, but we all know the red eye rules!

I'm great with anything green (Trolls, Treemen, Orcs, or Gobbos) but keep the human flesh away from me!

When WFB came out (new ED), I bought Orcs, Empire, Undead, Brettonians (at least 2500 points of each), Beastmen, and some DE. Unfortunatly after I bought the undead I decided I hated the game, just loved the Figs. With only 3 of my 9 BB teams painted (plus counters, coaching staff, Cheerleaders, fans, casulties...), 7000points of Armored Company (almost 2 GW cases full of Cadian infantry), all the new vehicles for my 4000pt Blood Angels army, 3500pts of Night Lords, and a case and a half of Necro all needing to be painted... I decided to stop buying more figs untill I was within a year or 2 of finishing. Lucky(?) for me, I broke up with my girl, now have almost no time to paint or play since I'm allways out partying or working. Finally I was able to kick my GW habit!
