Maybe simple the price should go up og Big Guys

Post by WildAnimal »

Maybe the price simple should go up on big guys, then big guys only are on experinced teams, and then hopefully the opponents players have upgrader to tackle the monster!

Just an oppinion, and i remeber the old days when the big guys was the star players lige Morg...then big guys was crazy! AND boring!.

Keep the big guys in BB, erase the ally rule, and simple say that big guys don't can use Team re-roll. It's really a wierd chapter that Ally section in the rules book.

Just upping theprice alone will not balance them because once they are on the team they're there for good and the only difference will be a higher team rating.

We know the handicap table is not going to solve the problem.

All that happens if you increase the price is that the gap between the haves and have nots widens by a few games.

agree there.

and making them stars again is no fun as sometime's the use of a BG can be nice / a challenge / fitting to play.

Just not on all teams.

Just a random Brain belch: What about just upping the price of Ogre's a lot. Fluff, "Ogre's realized the High demand for thier services, and started charging more." Teams with a choice would be more likely to choose the other Big Guy, and teams without. . . I didn't think that far ahead. (dwarves, Humans, who else?)

That will not fix the problem. Everyone that can take them still will. The only way to fix the big guy wars is to nerf the big guys by making the negative traits a lot more negative, or going to every team has its own racial big guy.

I think WAs are currently overpriced, but the others could get a bit of a price boost. Bump up ogres 20 or 30K, Trolls 10 or 20K, and Krox 10K (prehensile tail is a pretty crap PT since Tentacles are so much better). I like seeing big guys, but not on new teams. They should be something you save up for, not start with. Not being able to start with them will lessen their effectivness too. By the time you can afford one the rest of the players will be good enough to decrease their impact. Add in the fact that it means you have a few games of inflated TR, and they will be even further behind everyone else (big guys are slow to start even with their great Str).

What about having to pay 10K extra for Ogres for every match. That will change the Ogre player slowly into a millstone around the coache's neck ("oh damn, that big brute always wants more $")

Just make bonehead a 3+ roll. I think that'd take care of ogres and trolls.

That's a pretty good one. Or you could tie it to Really Stupid and make it a 3+ if they don't have a player next to them.

There was a pretty good suggestion earlier to have players who've failed Bonehead count as Really Stupid until they make a roll.

I like this more then increasing the cost of the player. If only the advanced teams can afford big guys then that is just another leg up they have over younger teams.

What if the extra money cannot be paid, do they sit out for the match? What about adding another roll if this happens...on a 2+ the Ogre remains on the team...on a roll of 1 the Ogre leaves to find other paying teams.

The end-zone “line of death” does not discriminate when one tempts fate by using a “go for it” to pass over it.

I like that it gives them the same risk factor as the new SecretWeapons rules.

I like some of the suggestions, but they appear cumbersome. Simple is better, which is why I like the 3+ roll. You could make it particularly nasty by removing the ability to reroll via PRO skill.

Or maybe just allowing Pro for rerolls on Big Guys...no rerolls from Leader or Trophies.

Pro rerolls should still be accessible for the BGs since it is a "player" skill...and a 50/50 that you'll get a reroll at that.

I agree. Skip that "half price for players above 100k"-nonsense.
