now that star players can only be taken as freebooters do you see any reason why these players shouldn't be made offical?

the rules can be found here

There are some of those players that I hope to never see on the field again. While others I wouldn't mind so much.

So if we went through the list and edited the players a little I would be ok with allowing them. But as they are I don't think so.

what changes do you think would need to be made before you considered it ballanced?

Barik Farblast - No problem. With AG2 he's pretty worthless.
Bilerot Vomitflesh - no block, balanced.
Dirty Dan - at ST3 he should be quite useful
Dorjak Sureclaw - lack of block makes him ok
Eldril Sidewinder - with only sprint and catch as additional skills he's ok
Flint Churnblade - with AG2 he needs 5 to turn the saw on - no problems.
Frank N. Stein - no block. He's ok.
Geargrinder - he's good, but not too good, IMO
Gorlmen Goreblade - no block. He's ok.
Gregor Meissan - he's ok. At ST3 he's useful even without block
Hacker Speenripper - No block makes him vulnerable with the saw.
Helmut Wulf - same with Helmut
Highelm Lyrpade - ST4,block makes him quite a worthwhile star
Hoshi Komi - ST3,AG4 makes him worthwhile.
Lewdgrip Whiparm - waste of a C.Warrior slot.
Puggy Baconbreath - he's great!
Rasta Tail-Spike - quite useless given there are gutters available
Skreet - an excellent player. Could be that he's too good at ST4,blodge,guard
Skritter - quite a basic thrower
Slarga Foulstrike - not very impressive
Tuern Redvenom - Good. Perhaps too good.
Ugroth Bolgrot No block. No problem.
Wilhelm Chaney No block, no problem.
Wishbone - quite the basic skeleton.
Withergrasp - he's ok. Mutants are nice.

Out of these, Skreet and Tuern Redvenom are basicly the only ones who have a really solid set of advances, and I'm not sure if even they need any toning down... maybe increase their price a bit. Pretty much everyone else is lacking some essential skills. Especially the lack of Block or Dodge or both keep these players in check. Go ahead and add them if you ask me!

I have the model for Tuern Redvenom. Man oh man, that's a sweet fig.

I though most of the players were crap, for star players.

I'd argue that only Tuern, and geargrinder are any useful. I'd never waste money on the rest of em.

I don't see any use in adding more starplayers...

Also, I just don't like starplayers. Therefore I voted "No"

I voted for yes, although I do not like the usage of Star Players at all. But as long they are represented at tournaments, I would prefer a larger selection.

Maybe a few players need a little tweaking

I too personally don't like star players, and our leagues never use them. The only time I've used one in recent memory was at the BB and even then it was only because I felt too many people would take Star-heavy beardy teams and I needed to keep up. In the end I was right. With one exception (Relborn ;)) all my defeats were against star heavy teams which kinda spoiled it a bit for me.

I'd be interested to see a tourney where everyone was limited to a team of 12 human linemen, although I guess there wouldn't be many TDs scored!

Indigo, I think that's the first time I've ever seen someone complain about "beardy" in Blood Bowl. Ever. Astonishing that I'd made it so long without that sort of thing coming up.

Oh well...I suppose nothing lasts forever. :-?

I voted yes but only because it gives more teams the option for star players. I don't like the use of them but this is one thing teams should be just about equal in

Roy: You're seriously saying that Skreet is not good? He's the definition of an annoying linerat. ST4, blodge, guard. One of the best of that list.

Anyhow, I'm not so keen about Star Players either, but I realise that for some people they are great. Therefore to serve that part of the BB population, it would be nice if those players are added.

I agree with Mestari.

Hell I'd like to see some new ones. Especially if it meant more figs.
With stars being freebooted only my league actually saw a few take to the pitch. Actually way back when we did allow stars we only freebooted them. It wasn't until a beardy coach entered the league that we had to ban them all together.
Freebooting stars is fun. We need more star players like Thrudd! The ones that simply just good players are kinda boring if you ask me. I'd like to see the Star Players have their own flavor in the game. They should cause a disruption in a fun and funny way...the way Thrudd does.

Griff Oberwald should be add mounds to your fan factor and be a total bad ass, but also be a complete egotistical, pussy bastard. Like if he is knocked down he is automatically placed in the reserves for the rest of the drive because of his "turf toe". (Think Deion Sanders  )
