Well, Dave, since starplayers can now only be freebooted, and freebooting costs a lot of money, I don't see any problems, yet, and wouldn't mind either houseruling them out or not doing so.

If they become a problem later on, houserule them out! I couldn't care less, so to speak

Oh well...I suppose nothing lasts forever. :-?
Well I played against the human team containing Griff, Zug, Luthor and a rookie Ogre with Piling On. I didn't think it was a team designed to show the skill of the coach playing, but rather more of a way of using the most powerful players in the game.

Each to their own I suppose but I prefer a star-free environment wherever possible.

Ahh. No, He's good to. Missed him, sorry.

Agreed. Skreet is good too.

I voted yes, for the record, I have yet to freeboot as player, and haven't seen anyone else do it yet either. When odds are small of their use, and money hard come by, you can have all the starplayers you want available. Hardly any will see any use, cept a few, maybe, once in a while. Just for fun.

One suggestion I would like to make is to either round up or down to the nearest 10k the prices of the "Out of Retirement" Star Players. In my opinion, everything in the Blood Bowl should be in increments of 5k. Under the current rules Bilerot Vomitflesh (which costs 125k) would cost 62,500 to freeboot. That cost just seems awkward to me.

So long as they are freeboot only and priced fairly I do not see a problem with a large list of freebooters, especially if the extras even out the selection among races a bit more.

Having said that I like Darklords idea of having freebooters with a bit more character than just a few good skills and stats.

The short answer is "no", but it is a qualified "no" because there are odd ways of interpreting the question which could justify the answer "yes".
