Because you can't stack AV/inj modifiers anymore, and because SPP's have been removed, and because of IGMEOY.
Which you would realise if you read post from people that disagree with you, instead of dismissing them as "n00B know-nothings"

Toby, I really think you need to cut back on remarks that insult people.
To be honest, I think mayube some people disagree with you, just because they don't like your attitude.
Now, that said, I don't like your aging idea. But then, I haven't liked a single aging idea so far. No matter how you do it, it seems to penalize one side or other. Or if it doesn't, it's either inelegant or too arbitrary.
Now, as for your idea on discounts when exchanging players, I think has some merit. We would need to tweak the exact amout, say, you get 1/3 off when replacing the player.
Playing elves I knwo I never have enough players, I never can afford new players, and I'm constantly fighting a losing battle trying to field 11 more or less healthy players. Usually I can't, and I never have a complete roster.
Only way I've ever managed to avoid the "elf syndrome" Is when I played an elf team on fumbbl, and never played against orcs, dwarves, CD's, or Chaos. I vigorously avoiding Bashy teams. That way, I usually managed to field 11 players, and actually nearly had a full roster.
If I could get a "discount" when trading old players for fresh ones, I might be able to keep 11 players fielded most games, and avoid having half the team sporting niggling injuries.
So in eccense, I like that idea.

Its Over Fixed.
And because its not abusive any longer there is no problem with rewarding a sucessul foul. Its a sucessful action. And I'm sure it would not be used to create the "Dirty Player, Mighty Blow, Claw, Fangs" Monsters we used to have in 3rd, but to push a 1MVP Lineman over the Edge.
And if more opposing players suffer injuries from fouls, and its INJURIES, because the casualty roll wasnt there in 3rd, we would not have the problem of needing a system called "ageing" that fouls the players after a level up!
And as to my attitude of "insulting" people, I wasn't aware this is a girls forum. Where's Zombie, gimme a Break.
1/3 would be perfectly ok just to introduce the concept of "Replacement easier than expansion". Now you got the player back, give him a chance to level up. And Cut maximum Starplayer Rolls to 5, and make the gap greater.
Oh and the MVP should be chosen by the coach. For reasons one can read out of the points I made on replacing injured players.

I couldn't disgree with this more. You start choosing who your MVPs go to, you get a designer team more quickly - need a blodge lineman? just give the MVP to the most likely candidate. At least with SPP for other stuff, you have to plan that the player is going to be the one to get the points and he has to actually achieve something.
Also from a fluff perspective, having a random MVP seems fun - like having Ron Atkinson (UK Soccer pundit) picking a player as his man of the match and everyone in the country going 'what????? he was useless' (eg Phil Neville man of the match for England against Serbia)

Hey Toby, maybe you should start developing games. That way, you get to make all the rules yourself.
It can be TobyBowl. It won't need any figs, as it will be an online Battle.net game. So you won't be hearing any hassle from alle the hobbyists. Also, you could creata a new forum Talk TobyBowl.
Only, don't be surprised when alot of people suddenly has a bunch of new ideas, that completely changes your original consept. They are only trying to improve your game, who cares if they want a complete remake right?
Geesh..
I can't agree to all the rest, but I still like the idea of discount player replacements.

You are right. Now is this a good thing or a bad thing?
I think its a good thing.
On a Starting Team, to get a Block Dodge Wood Elf Lineman, you need to give the fellow 3 MVPs. Which is the equivalent of 3 Games or 3 Linemen with Block skill only.
So, this cannot be abused as easily as you think. It just gives you control over a strategic aspect of the game, your teams developement. You have to do it with the same thought on blockers as you do with touchdowns on scorers.
Other scenario, High End Team. Almost every Player in your team, and the other teams in your leage as well has two or more skills. Now the Lineman dies. How long will it take you to level him up back to 2 Skills?
In the worst case. 48 Games.
Hey I thought that I won? As the victor goes the spoils, I declare this topic Moot, and dumb. Toby do not post in this one anymore because I won. Your refusal to observe trending data from league's other than your own, your complete disregard for other people's ideas, and your belief that anyone trying to point out the flaws of an idea are making a personal attack on you, has made you no longer welcome on my thread. Please retreat back to one of the other hundreds of "brilliant" ideas that you have had.
Why is it my thread?
Because Toby wrote:However, you won.
Roy, I completely disagree with the money towards new players idea. It is already covered, when your TR drops and you make more money off the earning's table. These players are not Barry Sanders returning thier signing bonus with early retirement, they are Bloodbowl players. The long term reward for retiring players, is part of the strategy of the game.
I will repeat my stance that you should get no immediate reward for retiring a player, as it should be a tough decision.

Yeah, I didn't expect alot of people would think it's a good idea.
And the neccesity heavily depends on what team you're playing.
I base my liking for the idea, after having elf team after elf team trashed so badly, recovering them would take 30 games. I'm just getting sick of having to retire players all the time, or having them rendered useless to me. This combined with the fact that income is harder come by, and the fact elf players costs heaps and heaps has so often forced me to have to decline playing against dwarfs, Cdwarfs ,Chaos and Orcs, all the time. Because if I suffer a good beating, chances are I won't recover.
I know this is mainly a problem for Elf teams. Skaven suffer alot of casualties, even 'zons and norse take a beating. But their being cheaper makes it easier survive.

Roy, don't take this the wrong way, but the fact you have so much trouble keeping an elf team together, maybe you're playing them wrong, or the wrong race.
Not flaming or anything, as I don't know you so couldn't say, but others seem to manage.
