Can you do without a Big Guy?
Can you survive without a Bigguy?
I thinking of playing chaos without bigguy, becouse it seems that my big guys always have the way the most SPP on my bashing teams,
Any i generely think there are something wrong with bigguys
But can i survive without one?

I think no one needs a big guy to win or survive. A BigGuy only adds some additional strength to your team. But also a weakness, cause he is always in danger to do a turnover (especially the Wild Animals).
I played humans, amazons in long term leagues and I played them without a BigGuy (zons can't hire a BigGuy) and it worked well.
I never played a chaos team but I think they need no BigGuy to survive, but it will add some skills to a starting team (Mighty Blow, or frenzy if you hire a mino).

Chaos doesnt need them. Only the stunty teams need them. They are highly useful for bashy teams once they get block and reduce turnovers. Having a bg on the line loosens up the options for bashy teams. Its more for team that has 2-3 guys with block tho.

Agree. A big guy is not a necessary buy. You survive very well without them, especially with a chaos team. In fact, I don't like to use big guys except in a orc or a goblin team (TTM is so much fun).

yes, you can survive without problems without a big guy.
you don't have the str, but you have more reliability.
I'm against Big guys for anybody but stunty teams and have never taken one for my teams that could take them (dwarf, skaven, woodelf). although the treeman for the woodies has been tempting now and again, I've stood by my principles. can't get the team over 10 players, but they're doing well nonetheless.

Ah, 'mon, you've got to take the RO in a skaven team, it's the perfect defence against your own one-turner

Currently an ex-Blood Bowl coach, most likely to be found dying to Armoured Skeletons in the frozen ruins of Felstad, or bleeding into the arena sands of Rome or burning rubber for Mars' entertainment.

It depends on the Big Guy and the team.
Wood Elves, Lizardmen, Chaos Dwarves, Orcs & Chaos can live perfectly happily without one. Undead don't get one and don't need it.
Humans and Norse are probably the biggest gainers by taking an Ogre.
HE & DE don't really need one, but can suffer if they don't get some Dauntless & Guard early enough.

They (and anyother non stunty team for that matter) do not need them. Only the current random distribution of Big Guys caused them to get one.
Big Guys only add power to a team. None of the current negative traits, with the exception of wild animal, are really all that negative when compared to the positives you gain by having a big guy.
This leads to "Big Guy escalation" where every team that can take one feels the need to take on in order to level the playing field.
So to answer the original posters question, no you do not need one, yes it really helps to take one if you can.

Blood Bowl is WFB Football, not Football with a bit of generic fantasy garbage thrown in!

I agree with Ken. The BG is a security blanket - he isn't needed but he helps the rest of your team a lot.
BTW, Mistwraith, I like the new avatar. I just saw that movie for the first time on Friday. It was good stuff...
