Endzones
Hello Marcus - you definately have a point... it shouldn't be the way that everybody has to through out their old fields (although that would fit the GW sales strategy ...).
My idea to really use the idea of the longer endzone would be using colored zones like the one that were included in BB 2nd Edition (maybe you can add som adhesives like from post-its and everything stays in place.
The advantage would be:
having a nice colored endzone with your teamcolor and logo
AND
haveing and wider possibility for defending the endzone (especially against 1-Turn TDs) and catching TDs in the Endzone (very spectacular)
now better ?

i think there s no prob as long as everyone is playing with the same field, otherwise, i think with the second edition pitch you got one square in the short pass range that is in the long pass range with the 3rd edition pitch.
i just had the case for a league i m playing in, some play on 3rd field and other on 2nd and i think for equity that it s better to use a "home made" range ruler to play on the 2nd field.

Throwing Range
As far as I could say, the throwing Ruler is identical and the field size is the same.
Can anyone verify this ? Galak maybe ?

I think stand firm should have it´s old ruling, ie failed dodges end up in the square the player was aiming for. Otherwise SF is to bad. Who will take it compared to dodge or sidestep...?
The Dwarfs should be able to have four Runners OR four Blitzers so they can do more agile plays.
There should be a ruling on how big the fireball is, 3x3 or 242 or something. Just to clearify.
Maybe CAS on fouls should give 1 SPP. Blocking teams don´t seem to get as many SPP as the fast teams otherwise.
I think the aging table works rather good. Maybe increase the 76+ aging-rolls with 1.

I think you're forgetting Stand Firm's rather cool "I laugh at your puny Pushback" effect.
Of course, the ultimate is the Block/Dodge/Stand Firm player. Hah! you need a pow to do ANYTHING to me!
Strangely, I think that all the Dwarf roster needs is Kickers - but that falls under my personal crusade to allow more widespread access to kickers if the kicker rules become part of the game.

I'll take your block, Dodge Sidestep and raise you a gang of Block, Tackle, Guard Longbeards on the front of my wedge. (You need three skill rolls for most players to get your combo. I need one.)
Stand Firm and Sidestep are both traits as far as I'm concerned - none of my dwarfs can take Sidestep without doubles. Stand Firm has two very useful effects. Sidestep has one. Choice made.

But since stand firm is a strength trait and side step is an agility skill, anyone who can get stand firm on doubles will also need doubles to get side step.Kri wrote:Sure, the Stand Firm effect is rather cool but I think that Side Step is a much better skill + that SF is a trait, SS isn´t.
I had the dilemma just recently with a black orc on doubles. Do I give him stand firm and ensure that he always stays where I put him AND he has a chance to dodge without fear of failure, or do I give him sidestep and chose any square but the current one to move him too but get no help on dodges. I went with stand firm. (Plus a side step person could still be pushed off the pitch. Stand Firm never can.)
But sidestep sure is nice for elves, since allowing them to dodge with impunity would be a bit over the top.

Re: Throwing Range
The ruler was the same size 2nd to 3rd ... the squares on a 2nd ed pitch were smaller than 3rd. Later I'll try to quantify how much smaller.Relborn wrote:As far as I could say, the throwing Ruler is identical and the field size is the same.
