If the LRB was so great the BBRC guys themselves would be using it when the
only 3 who actually make their presence known on talkbloodbowl are in
leagues that don't. In fact the most upfront, Chet, plays in a league which
has reintroduced dirty player proper and he himself plays a mixed race team
which doesn't exist under current rules.
In fact I only know of 2 leagues which play LRB as it stands and one of them
is the MBBL which is in place simply to test the LRB as it stands and even
they use kicking rules and a couple other experimental items. The LRB is a
basis for building your own league. It's no coincidence that there's a many
page list of items for the BBRC to look at and it's also no coincidence that
they didn't do squat to change the rules (The actual reason has nothing to
do with them being balanced it's because their release schedule for the new
BB boxset was before the Octorber review)

The guy that runs the table top league that I play in had this comment to make about LRB v1.3. Does anyone agree ?

Well, we play vanilla 2k1. I guess the question is how many use LRB as the core set with a few house rules added.

At the end of the day, everyone needs a base set of rules to base their league on and that is what the LRB is. no-one said the LRB was the be all and end all. If you want to tailor in a few rules which better suits the league you play in or because you particularly like a rule IE Secret Weapons/Khemri. then fine, no problem. But without that base to work from then you've got nothing at all.
That's what the whole concept of house rules are for.

We use LRB with three small variations: No rule of 1 and 6 on Fan Factor rolls, treasury doesn't count to TRR and winnings are a little different because we don't play OT (20k win, 10k draw).
Otherwise we're on pure LRB.
I imagine most leagues are the same. Anyway, I thought Chet played Amazons?
(Speaking of which...aren't he and Neo being unusually quiet? mebee just cos its Rules Review time.)

Our league used used BB2K1 but we all got frustrated and confused when we realised that the LRB changed depending on what time you downloaded it. We had different rulebooks and didn't even know it.
After all the mess of 4 edition and beyond this nightmare was pretty much a killing blow to my league. We don't play at all anymore and I don't see it starting up anytime soon either. Most people in my league are sick and tired of GW, Fanatic and Blood Bowl.

In my league we play straight LRB, with some test rules that we want to publish as experimental (PGFI). So there's at least on BBRC member who's running a league straight from the book.
As for Pariah's problem with downloading different versions of the LRB... all I can say is 'duh'. That's the whole point of the "Living Rule Book". It's the most up to date version of the rules, and the download clearly tells you the version number.
Lastly, the reason you haven't heard from Chet or I recently is because of the rules review.
